Does anyone honestly think i would damage my own cue, my main playing cue, on purpose? Just to give someone a bad reputation? Only to have to pay to have it done over again? Lets use our heads here for a minute.

LIZARD DOES NOT SHRINK!!!
Then you must have cut it short.

I COULD TAKE A BRAND NEW CUE AND GET MINOR FLAWS AND TAKE PICTURES WITH THE FLASH KICKED ON AND MAKE A SEEM LOOK BAD AND BUFFING MARKS STAND OUT.
I could take pictures of this cue also, seam down, flash off and standing 3 feet away and make it look superb. Unfortunately I don't only look at my cue in pictures, and in person these flaws do stand out.

I HAVE OFFERED ANYTHING I COULD DO FOR YOU. THERE IS NO WAY IN HELL I LET THAT CUE GO OUT THAT WAY.
Tell me again what you have "offered" besides redoing the wrap which you admitted you rushed on.

Fact is, you did let my cue go out in this condition, and with the drama this post has created, I would like to think that it insures that you will never do this again to somebody else.

....I was simply pointing out that aron would have to be the dumbest person on this blue rock to ship it out like that...
As they say, "The proof is in the pudding", and the cue is up for inspection to anyone that has interest.

I will be sending the cue back to Mr. Espiritu to have him redo the work. I know he isn't as good as Aaron,:rolleyes:but he is after all the Cuemaker, so I can only hope he knows what he is doing when it comes to one of his own creations. I only hope he will touch the cue after it has been worked on my someone else.

Remember, Painpool did not finish sanding the cue before it was resigned. Chances are if the cue is refinished properly It will need to be resigned again. Giving it to Russ would make sense to me in that case.

I am at a loss...

...I don't think the 2 of you will come to a resolution of this matter, but didn't Aaron offer the following:

I will offer you your money back minus shipping expenses.
I will redo your job and pay shipping.
I will pay a complete refund if a agreed third party says, Job no good!
If they say job overall nice and good, you get nothing!

I think the right thing to do would be to send it to the maker, and if he decides it needs refinished or rewrapped Aaron should foot the bill.

So

He shows the cue later says what a good job Russ did but it will more than likely be Aron's work. What a sham. I wanted dueling in Hollywoods big country at sun up! Now there is a thread! I can hear Greg now. Now Now there's your guns. I have the bullets! Just point them and say BANG. I will pick the victor!
I thught I might try to end this with a BANG!

So,

Russ Espiritu's word isn't to be trusted? I don't know either parties involved nor Mr. Espiritu but I would think a respected cuemaker's decision on whether it would need either refinishing or rewrapped should be valid.

Okay that's it the best thing to do is just have half the cue refinished. Then we could compare. This is ridiculous. Anybody can tell from Sore's pictures that the cue ain't right. Is anybody showing up at the pool hall Sunday to check out the most posted about cue ever??;)

ok SA your askin for opinions, im not saying that you done any damage to your cue. The wrap job could have possibly happend during shipment if it was in extreme heat, as for the scratch's on the forearm I have no explanation for that, as I cant make it out plainly that it is scratch's, if in fact thats what it is then I have no explanation as to how that happend unless maybe the lathe messed up, maybe it was a fast job(no Aaron, im NOT saying it was), as your pics dont clearly depict that it is scratch's SA, but I understand you have offered anyone to come look at the cue. So therefor I can not say your making that up, all that I can say is that it does kind of look like a razor was taken to the wrap(and then again a seam is str8 as well, so there is no way to really tell, but HEAT can cause a leather wrap to expand and pull apart like that at the seam. I have a few bad things I could say in this post, but Im a neutral person, I take no sides even if I have had a bad experience with one or the other and if I havent. I just tell it how I personally see it. Honestly I wish that you and Aaron would come to an agreement on this situation outside of AZ, as it is hurting both of you all, it may be hurting one more than the other, but its still hurting the both of you. Ive never done bussiness with him yet, but a friend of mine wants to. Im not saying this will knock my friend from sending his cue to Aaron, but all I'm saying is guys please talk this out either on the phone or on a messenger. There honestly isnt a reason to keep this thread goin like this. Sorry thats just me 2cents worth, as I mean NO harm or bad words towards NEITHER one of you all.

Just a reminder that I will be at Embassy Billiards, 121 West Washington St. Alexandria Indiana, (765)-724-0119 for anyone wanting to look at Aaron's workmanship or lack thereof.
Next weekend I may attend the Indianapolis APA State event to show the cue off there as well, as I have been contacted by 2 forum users stating they would be there.
I went out and played with the cue again last night and the more I look at it the worse everything seems. I'm confident that anyone looking at the cue in decent light would agree that this is sub par work.

A few of you have said this is "hurting" me by dragging this out. Look at it from my side please, I would like to think that anyone in this position would feel the same way I do. I don't know, maybe some of you just rollover and let others take advantage of you, sorry I'm not like that. I have a voice, and I like to use it. Come visit me today and you can get a first hand experience on how I feel about this whole subject.:D

My wife, wants to take it directly to Aaron, to show it to him in person and watch his reaction. Then again she also wants to string him up over this whole ordeal. I said that may be a option, as I would like to confront him over this transaction myself.

Further more, I will be taking Aaron up on his pledge to pay for my new refinish job as he has committed to by saying in a thread that was recently pointed out to me.

However I will need payment upfront please.:)

Hope to see a few of you today.

I can see a definate edge/gap in the seam...does that camera have macro capabilities?? you're going to need to get up close and personal with the pics....and use light reflection to help show scratches....

Are you lost!

I said nothing about Russ word if I am speaking to plainly I apologise but DA. I said and say what if the cue never sees Russ's hands? Who would know and who will care. Everything from here on has no interest to me. Sore lost any credability when he said he will just do something that Aron already offered along time ago.
This thread makes me think stay away from Sore if anybody!
Nick

Well well well.

I would like to thank the few that introduced me to this cameras macro function. :D The cropped versions don't do these flaws justice, but I can send the full size versions upon request.
I wont comment any further, the proof is in the pictures.

Enjoy.

Well hell, I'll throw in my 2 bits, everyone else has.:D It's easy to see the scratches in the first photo. That is unless you need a seeing eye dog.

From an automotive background preparation is everything. There you have a very large area instead of what, a sq foot? Unless something wrong with that lens, the're there.

PS. Nick, your credibility with me died when you recommended Painpool.:)

I always recomend Jerry Rauenzahn to all!
And that finish looks good. The wrap is no bargain.
Nick

Here, very easy to see sctatches under the finish. Looks like the initial sand was with to coarse of paper. If not then it needed more finish sanding. Prep is everything, especially with clear coats because it shows all.

If you guys don't see this you DO need a seeing eye dog! The outer finish may be as smooth as a babys butt, er, like glass but that doesn't matter really.
