I was poking around today and found this GEM, trying to hide..lol I wonder where the other 4 cues are???????? I sure am glad I have this one tho.

Steve, I've always really liked that cue. Don't recall seeing (m)any 3-veneer Spain blanks. Gotta be a rare one !!

That is a beautiful cue. I like the fact Paul left a little of the splice exposed to show Burton's splice method. I still have a few of Burton's blanks. Two of them are with that type of splice. I should probably post pictures of them in my Spain cues thread sometime.

Spain blank Q

I showed one of the cues where I left part of the splice showing to Burton and ask if he would make a matching blank well oversized that could be cut up and used for a buttsleeve - and have a leftover short veneer front for a matching jump handle.

Burton loved the idea and we made about 6 cues with a matching fronts and butts that had the maple splice ellipse showing. I often wonder what has become of those cues.

I have always liked these cues. A ton!

Paul,
You may or may not remember, but when the Hand of the Masters calendar was made in the mid 1990s you had one of these on your color page. It prompted me to call you, introduce myself and try to buy the cue in the calendar, or have one made. You didn't have another blank at the time, and I ultimately met with you a few months later in Las Vegas at the BCA Trade Show, ordering two similar custom cues, one for me and one for Dan Tull.

You make some wonderful cues.

Will Prout.......(great cue, Steve)!

I feel funny about this cue.

I have came back to this thread often to view it again and again.

Paul was the right guy to do it, his stuff is so TASTEFULLY done.

Maybe one of my favorites of the year.

Nice job Paul.

Great looking cue, bet it's a real hitter too with that joint. GLWYS if you do sell it.
