Is there a posting anywhere that shows the prize payouts for the 9 Ball, Banks and One Pocket segments of the Derby City Classic?

We have the payouts listed for the major events. Just go here:

http://www.azbilliards.com/tours_and_events/124-derby-city-classic/5536-derby-city-classic-2014/children/

And then click on the event you want. When you get to the event home you will see a yellow-orange button at the top (second from the right) that looks like a podium. Click there to get the results. Click on the camera to see photos, etc.

Hope this helps.

Jerry: I noticed that the straight pool totals do not contain the daily and event high run prizes. In the case of Ralf Souquet, that was a significant amount.

Here are the high run prizes for the Straight Pool in case you want to correct your totals.

The high run prizes were as follows:
Ralf Souquet - $1,500.00 (High run of event-$1000.00; High run of 178 Monday-$300; Second highest run Wednesday-$200.00)
Huidji See- $200; Second highest run of 93 Sunday
Niels Feijen-$300; High run Wednesday 161
Dennis Orcollo-$300; High run Tuesday 141
Darren Appleton-$200; Second Highest Run Monday 122
Nick van den Berg-$300; High run Sunday 99
John Schmidt-$200; Third highest runs Sunday 73 and Monday 103
Konstantin Stepanov-$200; Second Highest run Tuesday 140
Jayson Shaw-$100; Third highest run Tuesday 112
Alex Lely-$100.00. Third highest run Wednesday 112

Total payouts including high run money are:

1st Dennis $3300
2nd Stepanov $1700
3/4 Huidji $1200
Alex L $1100
5/8 Ralf $2150 (high run of tournament)
Niels $950
Darren $850
Jayson $750

Daily High run prizes that did not qualify for the to eight.

Nick Vandenberg $300
John Schmidt $200

Total payout $12,500

John Schmidt the best in the US and he only got 7th. Between the Pinoy and Europeans, ugh.

It was a tough field. John Schmidt did not even qualify as one of the top eight in high runs even though he ran a 103. Nor did Thorsten Hohmann, Ruslin Chinakhov (100), Johnny Archer, Nick Van Den Berg(100).

The tournament results and payouts were as follows:
1st place in the tournament was Dennis Orcollo for $3,000.00;
Second Place was Konstantin Stepanove for $1,500.00;
Third/ Fourth for $1000.00 was Huidji See and Alex Lely;
Fifth through Eighth for $650.00 were Ralf Souquet, Niels Feijen, Jayson Shaw, and Darren Appleton.

As for the previously mentioned high runs, Ralf had a 178 (and a 139), Niels a 161, Dennis a 142(and a 141), Konstantin a 140, Darren a 122, Jayson Shaw a 112, Alex Lely a 112 and Huidji See a 107. Those eight players then had a single elimination tournament.

Dennis,

Thank you! I do not know if Mike has this or not but I will make sure he gets it.

Best,
Jerry

I see that Ralf is still listed as making $650 in The Straight Pool Challenge when in fact he made a total of $2,150.00. A significant difference.

The others have not been updated either.

That was a tough table as well. Running 100 with those conditions is pretty spectacular. No 400's happening on that equipment!

It really doesnt matter how tough the table was, everyone played on the same table.

My point was US best (assume John is the best in US) and he got 7th.

I dont know anyone in the US that is better, but I assume John is.

I have just updated the prize money. This is the first I have seen of the bonus money listing for this year. Thanks for sending it over.

Thanks for updating, Mike. The Straight Pool Event is usually thought of as a stepchild, but some of the players got a significant bump with our money.

In John's defense, he was out of stroke and only came as a favor. He had barely practiced before arriving at DCC. With little practice he still managed to run over 100 on tough equipment. I still like him in an All Around match against most players (Ten Ball, One Pocket and Straight Pool).

As mentioned previously, pool is a very difficult job these days, and John may be exploring other options.
