Perfect Aim Tour............

I've had a dream for the last year.

To buy a motorhome and run around the country teaching Perfect Aim. Also I love to play and would get to play alot of pool.

My dream has changed a little bit though in the last 4 months.

A Perfect Aim Pool Tour.

These would be tournaments that any pro can play in and any amatuer can play in. It would be alot of fun for players of all skill levels.

I'm not going to go into specifics but it will be handicapped with players racing to 4,5,6,7,8 or 9. It will be designed so all the great league players out there that I have met all over the country can compete with anyone. It will be designed so that every single pool player that can hold a stick will want to get in on the fun. Any player that sneaks in under the radar at a lesser rate will be immediately banned .

I want to design a tournament that every league play in the area will want to get in. And I think I know how to do it being a player myself and running successful tournaments in my own establishment for 12 years.

The prize money will not be touched. I don't know how much added money there would be because I havn't gotten that far yet. Maybe there won't be any. Could that work? I don't know.

But what good does it do to add 2,000 if you take 2,000 out or even 1,000. This won't happen here for sure.

Anyway, I bought the motorhome. I call it Home, Home on the Road. It's not fancy and it's not new but it's a start.

I'm not blowing smoke and I'm as serious as a heart attack. Hopefully I don't have one. :D

I am contacting sponsors right now for cues and other equipment. These will be tournaments that will be full because I will help the poolroom owners fill them. It will get done. The very first one will probably have a waiting list to get in towards the end.

I would be shooting for nothing less than a field of 96 players if the room can handle it.

I'm making a list of poolrooms on the path I plan on taking right now. I plan on heading south as soon as it gets cold so there won't be any in the north country. I'd like to plan about 10 tournaments. One every 2 or 3 weeks. Maybe once a month. Not sure yet. In 3 months though I will be sure.

And maybe this won't happen at all but I'm a pretty determined type of guy and I love the game.

Just have to see where this dream of mine will take us all.

Thanks for reading everyone..... Geno.................

PS It needs alot of work. Repair generator, cab AC doesn't work, fridge only works on propane right now, carb needs to be rebuilt but when it's done I'll know what I got.

Home, Home on the Road..............I think a big 8 ball or 9 ball will look good on that big bare spot between windows?

I think I can pull this off and make it successful for everyone that loves the game for the game.............

But the Sweetest part of the whole thing would be I can teach between tournaments. And I'm starting to enjoy teaching as much as playing. Win, win situation sharing pool knowledge with everyone. .

Not enough Champions to fill a local tournament.....

Yea, what gives?

We need all the local players to support these tournaments. That's what made the Miller lite tournaments so successful many years ago.

They built their tournaments from the ground up. Starting with all the loyal local players that support the pool establishments. And right now the pool halls around the country need all the help they can get.

And i know it might seem like I don't know what I'm talking about but i guess we'll just have to wait and see.

It ain't like i havn't been there on both sides of the fence.

I think the secret is to keep it right on the fence.

So it's a win,win situation for the pool establishment hosting the tourny and for the players.

That's the secret..................

I'm not even sure if it will be. ....

Gene, I think you'll find that league players won't enter a tournament unless you give them a signed guarantee that they'll cash.

Get rid of the handicaps and I support your tour.

This is just the dream stage. I'm not sure how to make it work. But we'll see.

The biggest thing is how much I can get from the corporate companies that make a living from us players.

I'll get it worked out before I get too far. I've got some real good ideas.

Plus input from players like yourself is important.

The hard part is do you get all the local players to get in to feed them to the wolves.

But then again I guess i could take one guys advice on here and get there and teach all the locals Perfect Aim first.

I really would make a difference. Small maybe but a difference.

In Phoenix it was kind of funny. Nobody really knew for sure who could beat anyone for awhile.

Anyway, if i get this thing off the ground I think it will be a good thing.

I'd really like to do it without handicaps also.

Thanks for the input.........

I wish you luck sir, I have also been wanting to do some traveling because of health issues. I also bought a motor home with the idea of traveling around to different areas and watching all the great players in the country .
When you get an itinerary together, please let us know.

Sounds like a great idea to me.

If you could schedule St. Louis sometime, that would be great.

Teachers in St. Peters, MO. 1) 4-1/2 x 9 and about 20 bar tables (food and drink) or Cue & Cushion in Overland, MO. all 4-1/2 x 9 with (2) 3 cushion tables (pool only - no food)

By the way, I follow your teachings very closely.

Thanks
John

Hey, Gene. What's a carb? Is it something that you shouldn't eat too much?

Good luck with the Perfect Aim Tour. There are a lot of areas of the country that have no tournaments except at the local bars. The closest tournament to me is an hour away and draws less than ten players. I'll travel to play in some of your events because I like what you do for the pool world.

Best,
Mike

Having run auto/truck service depts for years and just finished and got laid off of my three yr job running a Motorhome service dept, I would like to make suggestions on your new home.
First, make sure the roof doesn't leak, take care of this first, use dicor for the seams, scrape off old, reseal with new, I don't recommend overlaying.
Second, since you have the older style engine A/C which most likely is old school, think about this, I noticed your roof a/c is forward, you'd be better replacing the entire front a/c roof unit and utilizing it when traveling (you can also upgrade to a higher output, I think you have a 1350 you can get the next model up and it will fit), than repairing the dash/engine ac system, why? It costs ALLOT for engine a/c work.
Third, make sure the vehicle is perfectly level to do a proper ck on your frig, also, ck with service, there are allot of frigs that have recalls and can span backwards at least 20 yrs.
Fourth....don't forget the roof.
Fifth, the gen (generator) here's what to do first, the fuel tank has to be at least 1/2 full or better and level, as it pulls its fuel from the engine tank. Make sure the gen oil level is proper, otherwise the gen will not fire (saftey design), next (I ran a fleetwood repair shop) if your coach is 20 yrs old, it probably needs new fuel line feed from tank to gen carb, then while at it, change the fuel filter. Carbs on gens generally, don't try and fix, replace it. Gens sit ALLOT and clog up very easily if they aren't used each season, they are the Forgotten Soldier, but one of the most impt components on your coach.

Looks like the previous owner towed, seeing his wisker rock guard.
Make sure your tires are not dry rotted, very common for sitting homes.
Tires will run you around $3,000 for six, and make sure you have valve extensions for your rear inner tires, no labor when replacing tires, can be costly when tires already mounted, but no real problem.
Windshield, fix cracks asap. at least $1,000 per side for glass.
Make sure your co and smoke detectors are up to speed, and it is nice having that extra escape door up front isn't it.

As for the carburetor for the engine, NOT the gen, I would seek out a truck repair shop and try and find and old school mechanic that has done this for years. You may too find help once you find the generator repair facility, they may know of a good wrench to help you out.

No matter where your at, your already there in a motorhome.

Good luck and i hope you get this running. I would love to see you make it out to the Pittsburgh, PA area and if not somewhere close!

Follow your dream. The biggest regrets in life are things we didn't do. Start small and local if possible....see how the interest is. Keep trying different areas until it clicks. Good luck. Hope it gets big real fast.

So Geno have you given up on redoing your Perfert Aim DVD. I'm not trying to dog you but when I took the lesson from you in August of 09. You told me it would be out in a couple of months, then the 1st part of Jan. Since then I've asked you about it a couple of times and it seems it just keeps getting pushed back. Since it's been almost 2 years I'm just wondering what the deal is? DICK

Sounds like you know your stuff. I put a for sale sign on it today. I should be able to make a profit and upgrade to a nicer home. I bought this pretty reasonable.

I have 2 months to buy something else. I think I might be better off getting something in the 2000 range. More money but less trouble.

Thanks again. I might need some more of your good advice before I'm through.

Thanks again Geno.............

Hi there Dick,

When I get back on the road you have my promise not only to get the new video but i want to work personally with you again and there will be no charge. Des Moines will be my first stop on the way to everywhere. It's right on the way and a great pool world there with alot of good people.

I had some health issues that are getting better and I've cut way down on the meds for diabetes. I think if I lose about 15 more lbs I might get off them all together. I had to almost quit playing for about a month. just couldn't do it.

I came to Milwaukee to build up a bankroll, and buy a motorhome to travel again and teach. As soon as it starts to get cold again i will be heading back to Minneapolis to finish the new video. It should take about 2 weeks once I get at it. Then it depends on how long the editing takes.

After this one there won't need to be another one about Perfect Aim. This one will pretty much have it down.

Looking forward to coming back down there.

Thanks again Dick geno...........

Good

Glad to hear your planing to do the new DVD. I must admit Perfect Aim never really clicked for me. I just never could see the shot much better whitch ever way I moved my head. But the time you spent with me on other stuff did help me at the time. Then my health took a turn and I couldn't even practice thats why I was hoping to get the new DVD. To see if it would help me once I got back on my feet. Glad to hear your still going forward with it. I dont know if you have heard that Big Dogs is closed and moving to a new place. I don't think they will be open till Sept. I hope to see you when you come thru. Dick
