Perfect Aim Video and Lesson Phoenix

If Webb said it was a good system, I'd buy the DVD. If the guy making the DVD comes on saying it's good, I'm sceptical. Also, the testimonials are great, but I know absolutely no one on the list, and don't have a direct line to Rodney Morris.

If you believe in your product, let someone like Dave, Joey or Fred do a trial run with the DVD and an analysis of your material. Until then, my bank account will be $70 fatter.

I'm pretty knowledgeable with nearly every aiming system in the world. Here's an idea - send me a DVD and I will write a very in-depth review. If your info is what you say it is... it will sell you quite a few DVDs because I'll sell it better than you. If it's not or if it's similar to another system, people would end up finding out regardless.

Send me a PM if you're interested. There are a lot of people, me included, who aren't going to pay that kind of money for an aiming DVD unless one of a number of people on here glow about it.

By the way, if you agree and it's the nuts--- you'll have my paypal payment the same day....so, it's a no-risk venture... I'm not looking to get something for nothing; however, I'm not paying for nothing either. Thanks, Dave
Gene,

I would also be willing to perform the same service, and honor the same deal. But you should be forewarned that I can be "brutally fair" and "impartially honest" with my evaluations of "aiming systems" (e.g., see the comments and articles here). PM or e-mail me if you are interested.

Regards,
Dave

If I understand correctly, this is not an aiming system but the foundation you need in order to apply any aiming system successfully.

Dave,
You are very good at communication and a good salesman as well but I don't know if you can hang with Gene. :nono:

The mark of a really good salesman is how he handles complaints and Gene hasn't been tested.

And just for the record, Gene: Dave is a man of his word. Dave is outspoken and not afraid to voice his opinion regardless of the opposition.
Dave LIKES aiming systems. :D (So does JoeyA).

Still waiting for AZBers to publish their findings about Perfect Aim.
JoeyA

I don't think Dave would have to be a better salesman, I think he would sell the DVDs by lending the weight of his credentials on this site.

Gene: I would also be willing to buy the DVD if Dave gives a thumbs up in his review.

I would also buy it and push the DVD in maryland if Dave approves. I would also be in vegas from aug 22 to the 26. baltimore is sending like 30 teams and I know most of the players, would be a great oppertunity if properly verified.

Well, I was trying to get the lesson today, but he is all backed up with other lessons in the area.

I run AZPoolScene.com and have spoken to many local players about the system and spoken to Gene a few times about it.

I've heard nothing but great things from the players, ranging from C players to a few of the top 10 guys.

Some comments I heard, which are not necessarily reported back to the teacher:

"It was alright, it really depends on what aiming system you use. It complimented one that I use, but will take some getting use to if you don't already use one."

"It will work, you just have to train your eyes to see it the way he wants you to. Any system is better than none."

"Remember all those cut shots I was missing? I made about 20 in a row and now feel comfortable 2 stoking them with confidence..."

There is a possibility of me getting the lesson after league tonight, and I'll report back with my findings.

btw, Gene is a Great Player! On the Barbox I think he's close to Scott Frost speed and the two have played a few times. (On Monday at the OPEN at Sweet Tooth, Scott opened with a 3 pack, Gene then won the next 5 games before Scott won the last 4, we'll be streaming it next Monday.)

The aroma filled the air; hot, like the Cayenne & Chinese Red Pepper used ever so plentiful in the boiled seafood of Louisiana. :groucho:

The next time I'm in Louisiana, I want some of that cayenne-pepper-boiled-seafood. That has me hungry. :)

March to June is best season for crawfish. Boiled crabs and shrimp all year long.

Think Galley Seafood on Metairie Road in Metairie, LA (suburbs of New Orleans) also Metaire Seafood (best blue collar "To-go" boiled seafood market)

Okay I went and had a lesson with Gene and learned his Perfect Aim.

My simple review and comments...

First off the price is fine and even $70 for the video is fine. What's that one local first place in a tourney. Even if your just beating up on your buddies more often afterwards then its worth it.

My level is a B+ player. Sometimes and some matches venturing higher and some I just plain SUCK. So from here on I will watch and see what improvement I get from working with Gene.
I consider myself to "play" better than I "shoot" if that makes sense. Hopefully ( and I think it will) this will improve now.

1- Its not really a system and IMO it should be just considered Perfect Aim.

2- Gene works hard at making sure you understand it. He knows what he is saying and is still tweaking ways to make sure you get it. I appreciated that.

I had a little issue with some of the language and wasn't really on the same page. Gene and I stayed with it and then we figured out it was hard for me to understand due to my height above the ball. Once I got down lower I really began to see what he was instructing.

3- Definitely something that has to be practiced but theres not a Magic Pill anywhere out there.

4- My eyes are a bit odd with my right eye being pretty dominate. We found that my left eye tries to get in there and help and that screwed me up on some shots. After making a couple adjustments I was able to see certain shots better.

5- All of it was very odd to me as I have always done all of my aiming and aligning before the shot as I was apporaching it. This method can be worked into my normal routine without much effort. After 15 minutes or so I was able to incorporate what Perfect Aim teaches into my setup.

6- I have a good imagination and can see angles and overlap very well. I believe that Gene's Perfect Aim would greatly help players that don't see these things so clearly. Some guys have certain shots that just never seem right to them. This would cure that and give a good reference.

7- My lesson with Gene was about 2 hours and was never rushed. Gene was booked steady and there was a previously satisfied customer there that gave me great comments about his lesson.

8- Am I now Johnny Archer? No but I have a great base to work off over time. I believe that we all need to take little tidbits from many sources and mold what we do. Everyone can not be Tiger and surely Everyone can not play like Jim Furyk.

9- Gene is very nice and personable.

10- I dont thing Gene should have to give more information out and I don't think those that have purchased the DVD or a lesson should expose what they have learned especially not so early.

11- Perfect Aim does is in no way a stroke fix or a routine. Its knowledge.
I do think that some peoples stroke will improve on some shots. This IMO would be due to their not seeing the shot correctly and their body/brain trying to make an adjustment in the stroke. Perfect Aim would help in this case as the shots become clearer and less jumbled to the eyes/brain.

Thanks Gene...

I also met Flickit at SweetTooth Billiards on Monday night. Nice guy and looked to be punishing a guy on the table.

Is Uglesich's still open? I know it closed but I heard it reopened.
Funny thing is that I was in New Orleans and my first mudbug was a sack at The Sports Palace.

Years ago while I was working offshore I drove a guy back to New Orleans from Grand Isle. I cant remember where we went but the food was great.
I also remember never feeling so out of place in my life at first. Henry was a black guy and we were in his neighborhood somewhere. Henry had told me it was a rougher area but that we would be fine. He was right.
Ended up a great great night. Lots of fun with everyone that night.

Thanks Frank.
Twas nice to meet you as well.
Your review of the Perfect Aim is very helpful.
Last but not least, you also looked to be doing some damage of your own over there.

.

Frank,
thanks for your review. It is appreciated.
I assume that there are SOME shots that even you as a good player (B+) have trouble when you get down on the shot and it just doesn't look right.

Does Gene's Perfect Aim make ALL SHOTS( including the one's that you occasionally have trouble with,) NOW, look "right" and can you pocket shots more consistently or is your potting skills still about the same?
I realize this is brand new to you but I wonder if you will be using this "Perfect Aim" in the future on a regular basis.

It has been my experience that ALL SYSTEMS, make you pay attention. By paying attention, you focus and concentrate better. When you focus and concentrate better, distractions are diminished if not eliminated and when all of that happens, you simply play better.

This also means that some of the things that people concentrate on might just be OK stuff but if it makes them focus better, they will play better.

Also, sometimes the "systems" are put back in the recesses of your mind and maybe it is only your subconscious that will ever use them again. Regardless, I hope that I am not coming off as a naysayer. I'm just saying that a VERY GOOD BI-PRODUCT of systems is that often times they help you to focus better.Sorry for the refrain. :embarrassed2:

Please drop me a note from time to time to keep me abreast of your use of the system and your progress. I thought by now you would be home. The Mobile tournament is scheduled for August 1-2 with the ring game on July 31.

BTW, Uglesich's closed a while back. :-(

Thanks again,
JoeyA

Hopefully it's about time

Best of luck with your venture. If it is anything like I hope it is maybe it will clear up quite a bit on aiming, which to me is more sighting.
Aiming is something you do after you sight in properly.
After you have sighted in it's just a matter aligning the eyes and body properly then delivering straight.
I am in the beginning stages of making a video on sighting and aiming as seen thru the eyes, no numbers, edges, pivots, hip movement, all eye patterns and nothing else, very simple, as simple as it gets.
I don't call it a system I call it part of the pre-shot routine. Why complicate something that is already complicated. Any unnecessary movement or thought process after the pre-shot routine (while down on the shot) other than bringing the cue into your line of sight (Aiming Point) can and will jumble the brain. Sometimes less is more.

I didn't invent my theory although I think I improved on it. It was taught to me as a kid by players such as Sailor Bill, Miz, Margo, Colavita and a handful of others. I would play them and ask the same question. How do you aim, what do you look at? The answer was always the same,,,I use my eyes, like this and that, I align straight to what I see and that's it. Make a mechanical error and go sit in the chair.

I will purchase the video as I am curious. If I see anything to the like of:
Squaring up
Sighting OB to pocket
Sighting pocket back to OB out to opposite rail (Full Track line)
I will leave out the rest and hopefully your video will fill it in.
If so I won't bother to make mine, If not I will continue on.

Best of Luck

I'm curious whether or not this Perfect Aim can be used along with CTE. I have a feeling not - but could be wrong

I have the feeling they are similar in some ways..

I'm very interested in this video but like Joey A, I'm holding out...for the time being. I would purchase the "Perfect Aim" in a heart beat if a CTE user ( spidey ) gave it a go and wrote a positive review. However, unlike Joey A, I may fold and purchase it anyway  I'm curious. If so, I would give my opinion whether or not Perfect Aim could be used properly along side CTE without distorting either method in the process. Unfortunately I'm not really spidey qualified....at all, so hopefully I wouldn't lead any astray in my attempt.

You will find that you can still do whatever you are doing and still use PERFECT AIM.Some of the people that I have gave my lessons to have said some of the names of other systems. Perfect aim is a technique and not a system that really works good. I gave a guy named Joe a lesson today. He had 30 some videos from various players and teachers. None of them showed him anything close to what he saw with perfect aim. Go to www.perfectaimbilliards.com and look at the testmonials. These are real people that are just amazed at what they learned. Most of them can't believe the simplicity of PERFECT AIM is and how good it works. If this was like anything else out there it would be all over the place. Think about it. Thanks for being curious. Get yourself a video and make yourself a believer also. Have a great pool day.. Geno...............
