Personal Autographs???

Was thinking on my trip to VF this year that I would get pictures of me and alot of the pros and top players. Then come home have all pictures developed and mailed to players requesting personalization, so that I can hang them in my basement when finished around the pool table area. Any advice on getting their contact info to accomplish this feat?

best advice ever!...^^^

when i was at viking natl. i took pics with monica webb, cory duel, gabe owen, shane vb, shannon dulton, johnny archer,
and got autographs from all as well. played chess with cory, he's extremly good, so is troy frank. hung out with tony crosby and richard brumpton and john schdmit.. cool ass guys to hang out with..

Here a thought use a program or white sheet of paper while at VF to have players autograph, then frame and hang it with your your pictures around the program. Then if you still want an autograph on picture wait for a tournament or the next VF to get the autograph.

not bad ideas....i have met alot of great folks at VF due to being pretty close with JR Calvert and Eric (jeeves) from the parties that they do for inside pool. Im just wondering if I have a shot at getting the autographs there? I do have a rather nice autographed collection of cue balls that I could just hang each picture above as well....

more thoughts are appreciated.

In the autograph community, nothing is better than index cards without lines (the kind you can get from any drug store) and have them sign nonpersonalized with a fine point Sharpie.

The cards can be mounted and framed with a picture from a magazine or somethig. I like your idea of pictures with the players signed. One hour photo is the way to go. Way cheaper and quicker than mailing them all out. If your interest is outside of the long term monetary value, it doesn't really matter.

I've had just about every pro player from here to Timbuktu sign a card for me and I've only had one person ask for money for the signature. Apparently Jim Rempe cannot sign balls, but can sign paper or anything else for free.

I'm amazed by all this advice!

I have to admit, the only time I will ever ask ANYONE (especially a pool player) for an autograph is if in some shape or form, that autograph will help me bed a lady-friend. What's more, she'd have to be something special! I mean, off the charts! I would have to be struck dumb by her beauty.

Lots of good ideas already. You could also ask the player the best way to get a hold of them afterwards for their autograph... some may send you to their website if they have one, I suppose.

Corey if thats your pic you look very familar like Ive seen you at these infamouse parties late at night.

Here is what I have done. I use a digital camera. Take all the pictures you want. At night goto any store that does digital pics. Almost anywhere these days. A supermarket, drug store, costco( very inexpensive) to name just a few. Get the pics printed out and take them back to VF the next day. Have them autographed. Make smaller copies of the players in action and give them to they players. They appreciate that. Costco charges about $3 for an 8x10. The drug stores and supermarkets charge at $6 for 8x10. 4x6 only cost about 30 cents.

How about donating a few bucks to the cause when you get their autograph?

Why should we expect them to give up their time.. which is their freakin LIFE, without getting something back?

When the ladies were at Valley Forge (couple years back), my wife had them sign the tickets you buy to get into each session. She had them matted and framed and has it hanging in her office.
