Hey guys,

I just added another PFD to the collection. This one was featured on page 74 of the 3rd edition of the Blue Book of Pool Cues.

It has one of my favorite combinations...... Purpleheart and Ebony. Of course the joint and buttcap are Ivory as well as everything else that's white. :D

I tried something a little different with the photos this time.

Let me know what you think!

You have some outstanding cues. I would like to see the entire collection.

Your pictures are supurb. They have the right lighting and show tons of detail. I wish I could take pictures as clean as yours.

Beautiful cue and wood combo. I have never had the chance to hit a PFD, or, ivory joint. Maybe one day, I will have the chance to do both!

Thank you for the kind words.

I will be at the Derby next year so if you can make it I'm sure I will have at least one Ivory jointed PFD with me you can play with for a while.

Is there no finish on that cue, or is that an anti-glare photoshop effect?

No the finish is nice and glossy. It's just the way I position the lighting. There is no post processing on these photos other than a resize and crop.

That's some nice pictures right there...it's tough to eliminate the glare from finishing(even the worse finished cue), but the way you position your lights allow for a better examination of the cue's details through photos..real nice.. i'd be wary of your photos if i'm a cue maker...cos the way you shoot amplifies any flaws on the cue be it inlays, recuts or veneers...

I agree, your photos are excellent. Do you think you could post a thread on your lighting gear and technique? You would be doing many on this site a big favor.
Thanks.

Love to hit a few at the Derby in 2013. I plan to be there again, for my second time.

Very nice PFD cue and the pics are terrific.
The wrap looks awesome on that cue.
I may steal the wrap idea on a Josswest cue with similar woods, boxes, & inlays
