Philippine Open

This might explain why there’s a bumch of no-shows at the Philippine Open. A lot of low key killers are competing in the Qualifiers.

You are beginning to really see the depth of talent in the Philippines. Many good players entered in both events, including those who couldn't come up with their entry fee in Manila. Probably an equal number of very good players who avoid these events in lieu of money games.

Normally Matchroom events do not have a "based on 128 players" sort of clause when the prize fund is announced. If the announced prizes are paid, the no-shows represent an unexpected expense of $10k to $15k.

Man, watching Manas play is a treat. He's smooth as butter. I can't even think of someone to compare his stroke to. Very loose and fluid. It's like he's not even trying lol

Ladao wins a very high level match with Grabe 10-8. Dare to say it was a better match that almost anything we saw at the Reyes Cup. Grabe showed his championship pedigree but Ladao never let up, making a picture perfect run out of a tough rack in the final game. Too bad someone had to lose this one in the first round. Never saw Ladao before but believe me he is a world class talent!

Watch this one on Youtube! Good from start to finish.

Same guy who defeated Yapp in between RC games. What a monster

Looking forward to the FSR/Banares match tomorrow. Banares is one of the best money game players in the Philippines. Would not be surprised if he beats FSR.

Table 2 and 3 on YouTube?
I just checked, and it looks like only one table is on youtube (not sure if its #2, 3, 4, etc).. MR has 2 youtube channels. On other events, they usually show table 2 and 3 on youtube, and keep table 1 for WNTTV (and sky sports, etc).

The two channels are "matchroom pool", and "matchroom multi sport". It's worth subscribing to both and keeping an eye on both during MR major events.

Paul John Ortega and Jaybee Sucal are hill hill on table 2. I think they are teens? Jaybee has a new fan in me. FAST, and straight.

same. heard about him for 2 years but only seen snippets. incredibly talented. brought the house down when he won, and the cheering continued after some kind of interview off screen. this kind of pressure and expectations on a 16 year old must surely be unprecedented.. social media era is a weird time to live in

Chua low key starting to inch closer to Fedor’s jump cue skill level
