Pictures :: My First Lambros...won't be my last for sure...

Been thinking of trying a Lambros for a while and had originally wanted to buy a plain jane to try and see if i liked it. I missed the boat on a good deal last year and have been on a hunt, but with so many good things being said about Lambros' playability (and how sort after it is) i then decided to buy something slightly fancier...

Few days after i bought this cue another fancy lambros fell on my lap and i had to buy it, too pretty to resist...so hopefully within the next 2 weeks i'll have the other one to share.

So here it is, my first lambros...

congrats. ive been wanting to try a lambros myself. what price range does a cue like this go for?

One of the few cues still on my bucket list. Mike's cues have the hit that some cue makers dream of. :-)

Best you contact Mike to find out more our hang around the For Sale section regularly to spot good buys. I've been looking for a while before i found this baby..

Very Nice Lambros :thumbup2:

Thanks, i love your Lambros too! ;)

Very nice looking cue, thank you for sharing it Jive.

Thanks and you're very welcome!

Wow Jive,

That's perfection!!!

Rick

Rick...Your autumn cue IS Perfection.
Actually i'm not a big fan of Linen wrap on this cue, somehow Linen wrap is only befitting on classic looking cues. This cue is pretty modern so i might wanna fit EE or some nice leather wrap on it...either black or some shade of brown close to the cocobolo used on this cue. I'm waiting for the other Lambros next week to arrive and decide if i'm gonna keep both...

So tell us what do you think of the feel of that cue with the Ultra Joint?

Tony----->never tried a Lambros

According to your signature you're an instructor so i won't risk sounding stupid...:grin-square:

Personally i'm not one who swears by a certain joint since i'm pretty sure i won't be able to tell the difference in a blind man's test between an Ultra Joint, Wood to Wood, Stainless, Piloted, Ivory flat face, Uniloc or a radial pin being better than a 3/8x10....there's just too many components that makes up the hit. All i can say about the joint is that it fits snug, however i have tried piloted joints that fits very snug too. The tightest and snuggest in my book is still Mezz Wavy Joint!! Those are crazy tight and super well engineered!

This cue hits solid, and slightly on the stiff side. The tip is a contributing factor though...i hate the current tip...i'm gonna put on a G2 Soft or Medium soon otherwise i won't be able to tell for sure how it really plays.
However from the one hour play that i have with this cue, it's a very firm player, not much flex, fairly stiff but you still get good feedback. Deflection is on the lower side.

This cue came with 2 shafts, 12.6mm and 12.7mm and they feel very different cos the 12.7mm feels fatter immediately. Normally I won't be able to tell the difference easily between 0.1mm but this time round i can...something about the taper..perhaps those hardcore Lambros pro can chime in. I like the 12.7mm better, abit more forgiving during aim and a tad softer than the 12.6mm.

Sorry...didn't answer u much pertaining the the joint...:o

Love love love this cue Jive!!!

I'm thinking a boars' hide leather wrap...that linen HAS to go! ;)

Absolute beauty!

Lambros

Congrats Jive, you know I´m happy for you:smile:.

I like this a lot, Mike has a talent to make his cues look stylish, good flow in them imo.

Ahaaa another one, you couldn´t help yourself...:p I know the feeling.
Thanks about the Autumn cue comment!

Play, I would say that the hit will grow on you, when you start to "not" think about the cue your are playing with is when you start to really get the feel of what the cue is "made off". You will start to see that (probably anyway, I feel it with every Lambros I have tried) it can take whatever you give it, it´s so fantastic solid, the balance is evenly spread in great way, (I have made my Lambros cues a tad more forward balance - personal preference only) , very consistent etc.

Well more can be said about the play but you get me I suppose and the playability is also very subjective, or at least we describe it differently imo.

Please add the pics to the Lambros lovers thread - would be great to have some of his cues at one place.

Best of days!

Chrippa
