Play some?

Fad game? I believe 10-ball is harder and has less to do with the rack that's all, I want to be beat by skill not a cut break and short run-outs. Well I'm here if you want to play but like you said it sounds like you have plenty of options, if anything I am good for courtesy action and will buy you a beer if I see you.

Hi Neil,

You are good people. I can tell this already. Bud select will be on the house my friend.

10 ball is harder if you consider there is one more ball to make. Other than that, there was no need for it. If you research, you will find 10 ball was developed by a group of people that won a total of 0 Us Opens in 9 ball. So, what does that tell you? That they couldn't win, so they rewrote the game. Just my observation... No intentions to offend anyone.

The description is a yes, but the DC PHall, I would think, is a no.

I don't know that he an Pooky have ever played and they both retire so often, it wouldn't surprise me if they never did.

Why don't you play Pooky? He will bet it up.

How about Sterling tonight? I think you will show shy.

True what you say about people "retiring" from pool. It just hard to make constant money playing. You win one night and you have to give up the world to play the next night. Thats why need to broaden my horizons.

Do you think Pooky beats Chris C. or Chris beats Pooky. Just curious because I want the better of the two.

As another poster said, if you can't get action in the area you're in, you're not trying very hard. When someone gets as good as you claim to be, we usually know about it, lot of people here.
9 ball as you describe it is not traditional to the rest of us.
You beat your friends, who have they beaten?? Who have you beat?
They don't play more 10 ball than 9 ball in Georgia.

TROLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Off the break, 10 ball takes the corner ball out of the equation. It's a tougher game, no road map outs, and IMO, is a better game to play when top players match up.

If you don't play 10 ball now, learn. If your 9 ball break is as deadly as you say it is - get used to guys asking you to play 10 ball.

I have to been to many poolrooms DC, I'm saying I can't find anyone willing to play me without having to give up a huge spot/handicapp.

Champions-Laurel Howards/Last Call - Waldorf Fast Eddies - Virgina Hard times- Waldorf Baby Lotus - Annanndale Lots of "bar" pool halls to..shall I name them as well? Also, since you are in VA. Maybe play some at Crystal City Restaurant, huh, I bet that cheers you up.

Earth to Cricket! Earth to Cricket! I have a guy who will play you for whatever amount you want in the D.C. area. He's not a famous player either. If you are really interested in a game, just get back with me here or thru a PM. Or maybe you're just kidding around.

Hi Cory,

Thanks for the Map. If that is the spot on RT.1, i played there before. Nice place. I wasn't looking for action then though, just practicing.

What area of DC are you in? NW,NE,SW,SE? In NW I played up Wisconsin AVe, babe's billiards a while ago, think its closed now. And fast eddies on 15th &K, next to Archibalds. To crowded in there, no action, just people on lunch break.

Maybe I can teach you some 9ball safteys and you can give me pointers in 1pocket.
It's not on Rt. 1; Rt. 1 is the Fast Eddie's in Alexandria, which doesn't typically have much action.

Babe's is now closed. 15th & K has crappy tables that are all obstructed.

I'm in close-in VA now, so Champion's in Shirlington is where I play most often, which is not as often as I'd like.

I like your name pushout. WE should play some! Why do you sass me? Because the all knowing intarnet doesn't have the scoop on local talent, me, so I can't play? Doesn't make sense. I WANT to be unknown for gambling purposes. I take it you don't play on the road for a living? It works AGAINST you when people know about you before they even see you play. Hustling 101 son. That is all.

The DC Pool Hall on T st. closed in the 90s, which from the sound of things, was probably a little before your time. The place was legendary, though -- Strawberry, Buck, Bus Driver,... There's also Cue Bar on U St., where I used to run a tournament, but it's only 2.5 years old. I don't think you would have seen Chris Comstock there, though. At least, I never did.

Cory

P.S. Who gave Cricket the bad rep? Nothing in this thread seems out of line to me. At worst its entertainment, and at best someone might get some games. UPDATE: Didn't realize the nature of his screen name.

Hi Jay,

I respect what you do for the community. Hats off to you pal. Does your friend play 9 ball? If so, a central location will be fine. We will have to arrange a time window. Is your friends name Gary F?

Hey, West Coast! What are you doing up so early anyway? You will never be a real player if you get up before 2pm!

Moon Cricket is soon going to be...chirp, chirp, chirp.

If he wants to get played he will go to Sterling tonight.

His name is Javier and he plays 9-Ball. Give me your contact number and I'll get him in touch with you today. You can be in action tonite. Promise! Just let us know how it comes out. He is a guy like you, always looking for a game. I guess D.C is a big city and you just can't find each other. Javier plays mostly in bars, but he will play on a big table too.

Hey Walter, gimme a call if it starts to look like something will actually go down tonight in Sterling. PM me if you don't have my number anymore.

BTW, if this isn't going down tonight, I've started playing in the Thursday night 9-ball tournament at Whetzel's in Manassas. You should swing by, last week it was a little low-key, but fun. Quite a few decent players, but I think none that would present you very much of a challenge.

Funny that you like the name, I HATE the current 9 ball rules. I didn't say you couldn't get played. There are already plenty of games, just here, for you. How you present yourself doesn't make sense. You say you want to challenge yourself, further on, you say you want easy money. The two seldom go together any more. You talk like you don't know the game very well. And by game, I mean pool, not just 9 ball. You're talking double talk and we've seen this before. Make it to the Palace Billiards in Greenville, SC this weekend. There is a tournament there and I'm pretty sure you'll get action if you really want it. Not that far a drive. Speak to the tournament director, he plays a bit, Shannon something. You may not have to give up the 7, you may get the barney ball and the crackles.

Thanks for the tip. Unfortunately Greenville SC is a bit out of my range. I like the idea of the 4 ball and the breaks. Possibly for big coin ;) Only concern that we would have to readjust after 2 sets or something. Anyhow, don't want to woof at this offer like you say so, this is just to far for me to go.

Sorry if I don't speak fluently enough. I'm not familiar with double talk.

Javier. Sounds like a spanish/latino. Could possibly be from the Adams Morgan area of DC? If so, this might come to fruition. I play pretty strong, and like others have said, its time to find out if I have stones in my pockets or not.

Going to the gym. Be back on here later. Bye for a while.

Do you want to play Javier, or do you prefer to just talk on here about how tough it is to find a game in your area?
