Play some?

I might as well throw in my $.02, my name is Neil and I gamble only a little bit but on your way down to the champions stop by Jacksonville and I will play you a couple of sets. You can find me at Bankshots on Beach Blvd. almost every night, I am attached to the bottle of Bud Select near a pool table.

Hi Neil,

I respect the courage to step up to the plate as they say. Jacksonville is a nice town. I went to a foam party at the Ritz on night about 5 years ago. Beautiful women there sir.

If you happen to see a player attached to a Bud Light eyeballing you, thats me. Say Hi and we can play some 9 ball if you feel lucky.

-Peace

Top Hat in Parkville Maryland (just east of Towson) has a tournament every Sunday at 1:00. There are some guys there that play fairly well and love to gamble. Henry, Sean, those guys gamble with anyone. You can find a game easy. Mike Davis used to play there along with Ryan McCreesh, Jerry Slivka too.

Ok, I've played in Towson. The university pool hall/bowling alley deal. Nice place, but no action there...at all. Not the same place you are mentioning though.

Thanks for the tip! Thats what I'm looking for, easy money ;)

Good Morning Moonie,

I don't usually gamble, but if you're agreeable to playing "Boy's Club" rules, I will play you some friendly, cheap sets of either nine ball ($1 per set), or straight pool (25 points for $2, plus time.);)

Boy's Club rules include; 1) miscues are do overs 2) climbing on tables is ok
3) if cue ball ends up on rail, you can move it away by the width of the butt of your cue. 4) surrender: if someone quits they get back half the wager.:D

I know the rules make the game tough, but it sounds as though you may be used to them.

Won't gamble playing 9-ball, too many run-outs and the rack is too big of a factor. I would rather play 10-ball if that's okay with you, hope you decide to make another trip down here shortly.

This dude hasn't been to any poolrooms in the DC metro area, he is going to the bar area of Richmond and a College...

If he wants to get played, he can go to Sterling on a Thursday nite and bet the MOON and any other planet of his choosing right there on table 1. His bungy will pucker so tight that he'll poop wire for a week.

And, Blackjack- I believe he referred to Brian correctly. Brandon would not have been in the room he mentioned.

I agree with the troll assesments.

I have to been to many poolrooms DC, I'm saying I can't find anyone willing to play me without having to give up a huge spot/handicapp.

Champions-Laurel Howards/Last Call - Waldorf Fast Eddies - Virgina Hard times- Waldorf Baby Lotus - Annanndale Lots of "bar" pool halls to..shall I name them as well? Also, since you are in VA. Maybe play some at Crystal City Restaurant, huh, I bet that cheers you up.

Good morning to you JimmyG,

No can do with those rules. I'm used to playing single games for more $$$ than you are talking about playing whole sets for anyway. Sorry. Go fish.

Hi Neil,

You don't want to play 9ball against me? Thats ok, from what I'm hearing on hear, there will be people lining up to play me, lolz. Wise man Neil, wise man sir.

As far as 10ball, its like Tiger Woods playing Miniture golf. you know what i'm saying? 10 ball is more of a fad type game, similar to mood rings and such. 9 ball has been around for decades, its not going anywhere. Think about it.

At any rate, good day to you.

If you're serious, this should help you out -- it's a lot closer to Waldorf than Sterling or Rockville and usually has lots of action:

Directions and map from Waldorf, MD to Fast Eddie's in Springfield, VA.

Usually pretty good action there. Your best bet for 9-ball might be to look for a little Albanian guy.

I'm good for some 1-pocket if I'm around.

Cory

Hi Cory,

Thanks for the Map. If that is the spot on RT.1, i played there before. Nice place. I wasn't looking for action then though, just practicing.

What area of DC are you in? NW,NE,SW,SE? In NW I played up Wisconsin AVe, babe's billiards a while ago, think its closed now. And fast eddies on 15th &K, next to Archibalds. To crowded in there, no action, just people on lunch break.

Maybe I can teach you some 9ball safteys and you can give me pointers in 1pocket.

Do you want to play Chris Comstock? He is from Waldorf and likes to gamble.

It doesn't surprise me you didn't get played at any of the VA places you mention.

Nothin' wrong w/ Crystal City Restaurant!;) :)

You will get played in Sterling. Bring what you can afford to.

No need to clear your schedule just yet, sir. I have accepted your challenge match against me so no worries there. I may have already asked you, but in case i didn't, you play push out right? Just want to make this clear before we lag.

Anyhow, I'm all for making a run through Georgia and Florida. If there is 1/2 as much heart down there as there seems to be on this website, then I might need a UHAUL to carry all my cash back home.

I have a nice bankroll now and 2 backers that would be willing to travel if they think its worth it. Basically, going to FL for one or two matches will barely pay the cost of the trip, unless I can get serious action

Fad game? I believe 10-ball is harder and has less to do with the rack that's all, I want to be beat by skill not a cut break and short run-outs. Well I'm here if you want to play but like you said it sounds like you have plenty of options, if anything I am good for courtesy action and will buy you a beer if I see you.

Is Chris a stocky Ginger fellow? Plays strong at times, but overall B- speed? If so, I met the gent at a pool hall in DC years ago, by Howard U. right off of Tstreet I think. Possible good match here. Does he still play? What is his speed lately? Can he beat Pookey R.?

The description is a yes, but the DC PHall, I would think, is a no.

I don't know that he an Pooky have ever played and they both retire so often, it wouldn't surprise me if they never did.

Why don't you play Pooky? He will bet it up.

How about Sterling tonight? I think you will show shy.
