Ok, I started using a glove 3 weeks ago and I fell in love with it. The only problem is I have already worn out the finger tip of the index finger. It's a sir Joseph glove. Now I'm not trying to bash anyones product but $12.00 for 3 weeks use isn't worth it to me.
Is there a glove out there that is made out of a more durable material? I have noticed there are several without finger tips and that may be the route I have to take, but I would rather have one with the finger tips covered if possible.

Out of curiosity, why did you fall in love with the glove and why do you want one the finger tips covered?

I'm considering a glove as well, so am wondering.

I use gloves as well but all of mine have cut off fingers so I don't have that issue. I think I've used the same glove for about a year, the only part that is failing is the velcro.

I've tried most of them and the Joseph is the best IMO. I just cut the tips off after the holes appear. Gotta get ur moneys worth.

I bought one to keep the chalk from building up on the heel of my hand but found I really like the way my cue glides on the glove. You might borrow one to see how you like it first as some say they lose touch with the shaft. I know what they mean but I adjusted. Their great in humidity to.
 
THE ONLY REAL PROBLEM , I EVER HAD WAS WITH THE WRIST,PALM AREA, WAIRING OUT FROM RESTING ON THE TABLE FROM BRIDGING. IV'E USED ONE FOR YEARS CAUSE I LIKE TO KEEP MY SHAFTS LIKE NEW AND SMOOTH. SIR,JOSEPHS ARE ABOUT THE BEST , BUT I BOUGHT SOME OFF A FELLOE AZ'ER ON HERE AND THEY HOLD UP GOOD , ALL COLORS , 10 PACKS , GOOD GLOVES , THE ONLY PROBLEM IS THEY WHERE ONE SIZE FITS ALL , THEY GET ALITTLE TIGHT. DO A SEARCH ON GLOVES FOR SALE AND IT SHOULD COME UP , THE GUY'S USER NAME , << ED :thumbup:
 
I had the same problem with Sir George gloves. There's a guy on this forum, Cesardajr, that was selling 10 gloves for about $18 or so. I bought 10 and they are holding up better than Sir George. Been using one for about a month now with no problems. I think you might be happy with them especially at that price.
 
I use a ST Joe's and it is the best by far of the four brands I've tried. I've only had the ST Joe for 3 months but I play about 5 hours a day and see no wear. Johnnyt

I fell in love with it because of the way it played. The cue glides through my bridge hand with ease. I live in Missouri and the humidity can get pretty high here and the glove completely eliminates that problem. The only reason for keeping the finger tips covered is because that is what I have gotten used to, no other good reason.
I was just surprised at how quickly it wore out. I play on the average of 3 hours a day, but my main problem is that I have a tendency to slide my bridge hand up to the shot and the glove can't handle the friction of the felt. My fingers used to get sore after 5 to 6 hours of play and the glove now protects them from the cloth. That's another reason I like having the tip covered!
I may just have to invest in a pair without tips, any suggestions on a good pair?

I would just cut out the fingertips and see how you like it. I used to think I wouldn't like one without fingertips, but after I bought a deluxe glove, I realized I liked it better. Also, I personally liked the falice glove (not sure if that's how it's spelled) for a glove that has fingertips. It seems to be a lot like Sir Joseph's but is a slightly thicker material and doesn't wear as fast. I liked those three gloves better than all the others I have tried. I got the deluxe at seybert's. I'm not sure if others carry that same one.
 
I've tried four or five brands of gloves and for the money AND durability AND playability, you can't (IMO) beat the Pooldawg brand (Pooldawg Pool and Billiards Glove) for 6.75 apiece. I urge anyone currently using a glove or thinking about using one to purchase at least one of these gloves and give 'er a go!!! I did and have never looked back.

When I first bought a glove, I bought it because my break cue was graphite.. (Not anymore, upgraded!) I found that the fingerless gloves work great. Best to get them in the proper size though. Mine is a medium, I really needed a small.. So the ends of the fingertips would roll up on my fingers some times. The pad on it seems to be still lasting along time. I'm really happy I got it though.

Point is.. Size matters! haha
 
I live in KCMO, and I don't have that problem at all and don't need a glove. But of course, i play with an open bridge, so that might be the difference. Maybe everyone is different with how much their hand sweats. Where do you usually play at?

Oh yea, check these out, I saw these the other day on the FS/W section, looks pretty cool, but their open bridge looks awkward. If you want your fingers covered maybe you can get another glove and have a tailor put felt on the finger tips, felt rubbing against felt shouldn't wear outas fast I dont think or another kind of material like leather on your finger tips. Or you can always go the Earl Strickland way, doesn't he use golfing gloves? lol

Seyberts has Sir Joseph gloves on sale for $6.95. They fit great and are the best gloves that I've tried.
 
My friend bought one and I really got on him about it. I am just old school I guess and have never used one. One day for fun, I wore a welding glove to play him. Boy was he upset, but at least I didn't wear out the fingertip :)

you might want top try a larger size.;)
