Check out the wood cue stick holder in the back. This pool room looks like it's in the middle of a rural area in Uganda. I guess they don't get much rain. There's no walls in this pool room.

An indoor tavern with a lady player in Uganda. She sure is dressed conservatively for a bar.

This table looks well played on. Supplies and maintenance must not be plentiful in this Ugandan bar.

Pool is on the rise in Africa and has become quite popular, according to the 2+2 forum member who traveled throughout the continent.

This was the Golden Cue in New York City, located on Queens Boulevard West. I don't think they exist anymore, but I like this picture because it shows Ginky (George San Souci) with blond hair. :grin-square:

This picture was taken at the conclusion of an action game for a dime. Guess which one lost?

were they gonna to fight???????????????????

i actually got to play some pool with some guys from Uganda. they really like to play and were real fun to hit 'em around with.

they do play with some funny european rules though. ie fouls equal 2 shots for the incoming player and frozen balls have already played themselves.

i tell you i could give those guys 4 games on the wire going to 5 but you couldn't force me to play chess with 'em!

Here is a pool room in Xiamen China - it's one of around 100 rooms within about a 20 mile radius. These pix were take during a Fury cues sponsored tournament.

But it used to be the Golden Crown Pool Hall as well as billiards supply. The Stockle family owns it (or, at least, they used to). They also owned the Mecca Pool Hall, but that was in a different location. A buddy of mine is the son of the couple who started the business in 1958.

Cool pictures, Ghosst! But now you got me wondering. Tell me more about The Crooked Cue! :p

I really do enjoy this thread. Somebody should make a coffee table book
with some of the photos of the pool rooms. You can see how the the atmosphere
is in the different envrironments.

Here's a few young folk enjoying a game in Indonesia. Check out the cloth raised
above each pocket. What is that?
