I don't hardly see any pool on ESPN at all anymore. Is it completely gone from ESPN? Are there not any tournaments for ESPN to show? I know the WPBA has just one or two scheduled events anymore but I don't recall if either or both are shown on ESPN.

Whats up with ESPN and Pool nowadays?

I think about the only thing they have been showing is that 4 player challenge of champions thing. It's once a year but is replayed a few times.

Pool on ESPN is deader than HulaHoop. CoC, some WPBA and some trick-shots is about it.

Yes...20+ years ago in the mid 90's, the PBT and the APA broadcast the finals of the world 8ball, in Vegas, I think between Efren and Jeff Carter. Of course, the Mosconi Cup is broadcast live all the time...but just recently here in the US.

There was also a Doubles match shown live back then. I think it was Mizerak and Sigel paired with Ewa and Balukas.

You're right, it's hardly ever on anymore and when it is, it's not really worth watching anyway...

Some of the top players started getting agents. I know John Schmidt did. Then there were umpteen different so-called associations popping up all over the map. This guy wouldn't play if that guy came... that guy was allergic to somebody's nail polish, someone had BO... The usual childish BS.
ESPN got allergic to the B S.

Yeah I know, right?? I thought ESPN was for sports, its tough debate on if pool and auto racing are sports but in which stretch of the imagination is drone racing and poker a sport?? What do you suppose their exercise regimen is to stay in top physical shape so they can compete at the highest level? I suppose a lot of finger and thumb exercises to work the remote control in those 1 minute and 30 second races and holding cards for several minutes at a time. Maybe the big flop takes a lot of strength, I dont know because I really do not play cards (or is it compete cards, not play??)

I'm with you pal. I also lump pool into the poker category.
