Pool Room 101

Any form of electronic payment: credit cards, direct deposit, etc. Require people to only use paper cash as currency again. People imo are more likely to gamble with paper in their pocket every friday payday from their job.

hands down . . .

karaoke !

I know pool rooms have to diversify a little to try staying profitable but, HAVE MERCY! - we're trying to play pool over here.

best,

APA. There...I said it.

Edit: Misread question. Thought it meant "banish from a pool room". Maybe not banish APA from the entire world of pool...just where I play.

And complaining...............

But, there are some pool players that use up all the Whining credits the other players don't use.

Whining is a pool player's right. Very few exceptions to this, but usually the 1st place winners only complain about there not being enough money for 1st.

Slow cloth.
For the proponents of slow cloth, I would suggest playing carambole for
a while....you'll realize how much of the magic is taken from the game
when you play on a 'horse blanket'.

Easy. Smoking.

I'll second that.

I was tempted to say 'bar boxes' but if a bar can't fit a regulation table, they aren't going to make room, they're just going to skip it entirely.

Can "lazy/bad table mechanics" be banned?

LOL, made me realize, (especially with the statement ''not enough money'' for the winner)....there's NEVER been one thing a pool player ''didn't'' complain about. Whats even more amazing is this, I went up to Denver a month ago with Mike Massey to play some 3 cushion with Jerry Karsch. who owned the room Shakespears, and mind you Jerry is a 3 cushion addict/accountant, and still loves the game, he's in his late 70's? But Jerry said, ''3 cushion players complain and whine waaaaaaaaaay more than pool players'', kinda hard to imagine that but it makes sense, it would be like being at day care whle running a tournament
