Pool Room Music

Could be that I'm a bit nutty......

I am 33 years old, and would be in Pool Heaven if nothing but classical music was playing. Yes I am talking about Bach, Bethoven, Amadeus etc.

Hey! Dont knock it untill you try it! There's something about that kind of music and getting in stroke.
 
Get the LED out and MOTOWN, circa late sixties/early70's.

Must have something to do with age. In my private room I play classic rock circa the 60s. Classic such as Ludwick Van, quiet jazz, and for practice easy listening. But you can't beat the old timers, Frank S, Nat Cole, etc.

When my buddy shows up its all country and that's cool too. So I gues it depends on one's mood.
 
I don't really have any favorite type of music or artist(s). Unless it's at ear splitting volume, I just tune it all out anyway.

What I can't stand is death metal. That crap makes me want to take a sledgehammer to the jukebox.

I always refer to that as "growling music." Because that's just what it sounds like when they sing (if that word should even be used!)

I can listen to most stuff when I'm playing, unless it's (c)rap. I hate that. I'm not a big country fan either, although I'm a Big Country fan!;) What I really am is a huge U2 lover & if any of their stuff comes on I'm in heaven. I played a league 8-ball game a few weeks back & their song "I Will Follow" came on just after my opponent broke & came up dry. It's not a very long song but I had time to hear the end of it after I ran out complete with a big smile on my face. I play pretty quick normally but that just seemed to kick the turbo in!!!:D
 
have to agree, the music that takes me back

I am happy with no music but if music there must be, I want country gold mostly from the sixties and before, sixties rock, the standards of that day, some mo-town and rhythm and blues. While I liked Jimi Hendrix, Janis, and some of the harder rock bands of the day, the best music for me to shoot pool to is the buckle polishing music.(slow dance songs)

Opponents know they are had when I start flowing around the table. Nuthin like some old doleful country to bring that on. Seems like I played a million games listening to the jukebox in some dive where the records in the jukebox hadn't been changed in ten years. Easy to flashback to that time listening to back to back sixties jukebox standards.
