What part of Baltimore? There are good rooms all over, but they are spread out. Are you looking for action or just playing?

You should play with LIL Melvin. LOL

KB Billiards in Elkridge, Md or Side Pockets in Laurel, Md both are close to Baltimore. In Richmond you have the Playing Field. When are you going to be there? Let me know its always nice to meet up with AZEr's

Near Richmond is a place called Diamond Billiards (IIRC) and that, with Side Pockets, is the spot now. Side pockets is in Richmond, proper. The other on is in Midlothian.

Use caution driving from b-more to r-mond. Unless you are mad at yourself, don't even try it between 2pm- 8pm.

Are you looking for action or just a nice place to play?? In baltimore, right off the beltway(695 & joppa rd) theres Top Hat,something there for everyone(big place also). If its bar box pool your looking for theres sports 2000(the old green room),enough b/b there to play 3 days & never hit the same table twice(great bar & food & charlie has a fully stocked pro shop)

I would not go as far as to say I am looking for action cause Im not that good. But I am not scared of it either you know how it goes when you get in a pool room its hard not to get into something just to keep you entertained. I am going there on business and just wanting to check out some places and relax mainly..

thanks for all the info i am suppose to be there this weekend if nothing changes!!

If it were me, I'd go to Richmond pool rooms. Personally, I think there is more happening there in pool than there in Baltimore.

Not knocking Baltimore, but MANY pool rooms have shut down. Big Daddies, I think it is called, is pretty cool, however.

In Richmond, you have a choice of three great pool rooms, all within driving distance. Each of them has action, good food, and friendly pool people.

Some of the rooms in Baltimore, IMHO, are in not-so-good neighborhoods. :(

Where are you staying in Baltimore? That will determine where to go. Top Hat, Kelly's, Johnny C's are all in decent places.

Im really not sure where I am staying. Im not that familiar with the area, Someone with my company will pick me up at the airport and take me to the office. Tho I will rent a car so I guess it doesnt really matter because I am going to have to drive to Richmond also. I am willing to drive a little, especially if it keeps me out of the wrong areas..

If you're staying near BWI airport, then Big Daddy's is the place you'll want to go to play.

Korean Lee's pool room is not in such a good neighborhood.

Top Hat isn't exactly a place where I'd walk around with my Gucci bag and gold jewelry, if I owned a Gucci bag and gold jewelry! :grin-square:

Cigar Tom's room in Dundalk, the surrounding neighborhood is a little rough, IMHO.

A little south of Baltimore, in Laurel, MD, I heard that they have a gun-detecting machine at the entrance of Side Pockets now, (the old Champion's).

Just to name a few....

That is one room that I have not had the privilege to visit, but I hear the owners are strong supporters of pool! :)

Big Daddys Billiards LLC
7954 Baltimore Annapolis Blvd Ste 2G
Glen Burnie, MD 21060
410-760-1332

With Jack and Jill's in Glen Burnie, MD, Hot Shots on Pulaski Highway (Route 40), Bill and Billie's in Arnold, MD, and USA Billiards in Laurel, MD all closed for business, the pool scene in this MARYLAND area is a little skimpy.

Richmond is where things seem to be blossoming and happening as it pertains to pool.

Then there's that new room in Winchester, VA called "Blue Fox," I think. They're supposed to be GREAT! Haven't been there yet either, though.

If you don't feel comfortable at top hat and cigar tom's area, then you must live a very gaurded life. These are typical american neighbohoods, with not alot of crime. You can't judge by passing through.

It could be that since you are familiar with those neighborhoods, they may feel comfortable to you.

I have been to many pool rooms, and I realize you can't judge a book by its cover sometimes. Once inside, everything may be just fine. I agree that you can't judge by passing through.

I don't live in such a guarded life. I've just lived a long life and seen a lot. Because of my life's experiences, ESPECIALLY in pool room environments, I am EXTREMELY guarded. :)

Another vote for Big Daddy's. All pool, nothing else...well, you can get a sammich and a soda, but that is about it.

Not to fail mentioning you can have a Gold Crown, a Diamond, a bar box or a snooker table or a heated billiard table!

As JAM mentioned, this place is owned by people who love pool, as evidenced by the no booze.
