Pool school

I have to say that i am amazed that my appreciation for pool school grows with time. 5 years i went yet i am using my education more and more. The better i become as a player the more i rely on my training with randy.

Everybody, thanks for the nice words.

Pool School is not about me, it's all about you.

J-Flo did it right. J-Flo came to school with an Open Mind and an empty cup.

I try to keep my classes to just two students per class. That's a long cry from years ago. We must always move forward.

My new location (Bowling Alley) is just perfect.

PS: What's this crap against CJ. He's a great guy and I would work along side him in a New York minute. Listen, he has lots to say....

ChadK...You're a wise man! Keep up the good work!

I had a one on one 8 hour session with Randy almost exactly a year ago. I was literally a beginner at that time (still am). The video of your stroke is truly revealing and educational. I have taken lessons since then from people (professional player(s))who tried to change what Randy had taught. I choose to subscribe to the Randy G school of thought. I'd love the opportunity to get to go again.

joelbohm...You're referring to another pool school...not the one taught by Randy, myself, or any of our other SPF instructors.

Pool School is a collection of concise, easy to understand articles designed for the average pool owner. The articles have been carefully written and arranged to take you through a natural progression of pool care topics.

tuffstuff07...You can't squeeze 24 hrs of teaching into 8, no matter how good you are! People taking the one day class get a good deal of information, and a great personalized process to follow...as well as goals and how to measure your progress (as you already know). The 3 day school gets into a LOT more detail. Both are valuable, imo. As Randy and I have both said...pool school first, with a day private lesson followup (once school has been "digested"), is the perfect compliment. One could certainly do it the other way as well (private first, and pool school later). You are due for some followup, in any case...since it's been years.

I'm curious as to what u get from pool school that u don't get from a one on one with Scott or Randy.

Don't leave yourself out of that equation Mark. You're a great instructor in your own right, and you contribute a ton of good information here all the time!

We can learn a lot from books, DVDs, and great players, but without a solid foundation our progress is limited. Nothing will get you on the right track better and faster than a good instructor like Randy, Scott, or any of the SPF instructors around the country.

Glad you posted your experience

J-Flo-

Thanks for posting about your sessions with Randy G.

It sounds like you got your money's worth. Good to hear.

take care

....and thanks for recent smooth transaction

The last thing I want to say is this...poolschool, as we teach it, is the stepping stone to being ABLE to get the most out of more advanced instruction from any pro player. One thing both Randy and I share, is the deliberate mention to any student, that you must keep learning...always. We've both said it a million times...take lessons from as many people as you have the time, money and opportunity to work with. We are all students of the game, forever! :D

I attended pool school with Randyg and Scott Lee. In addition I took the advanced class with RandyG. I have also jumped at the opportunity to work with Scott whenever he has been in my area. Best money I ever spent.
Some poster want to know what do these guys teach. If you attend one of these schools you will learn how to stroke the ball correctly. A repeatable, reliable stroke. That is the main focus of the school. You are given clear reasons as to why their ideas work.
You will not walk out of this school ready to go on the pro tour. You have to practice what they teach. When you have worked on the pool school concepts you will ready to learn more advance shot making.
Best money I have spent on my game.

keep up the good work teaching and allowing the Game to teach as well.

Thanks, Randy, for some reason a few people are skeptical of us knowing and working with each other. Funny how conclusions are drawn sometimes on opinion, rather than fact. I'll come by and visit your new location, I believe we played some league matches last year at that bowling alley, they have surprisingly good food.

I'm glad to put minds at ease about our relationship, it seems pro players are sometimes looked at a bit "skeptically," imagine that.;) I believe in being the "exception," not necessarily the rule, which naturally "rocks a few boats."

Best regards, Randy, keep up the good work teaching and allowing the Game to teach as well.
