It not often that i get this excited but man I have got to share this with everyone.

Richmond Va. Just got a new pool hall, let me restate that we got the pool hall of a lifetime. It is a beautiful room. new tables, wide chairs, cue lockers with key and lock for rent. This room caters to pool players.. they started of at 7 dollars an hour..but lowered their rate to 5 dollars. They have a tournament every friday where the owner of the pool room puts in addded 200 dollars every friday. They have a big break were tickets are a dollar a chance. The owner added a cool 1000.00 dollars to the big break. They had John Schmidt come in this past weekend and put on a heck of a show. The food is great. They just are doing everything right to make POOL PLAYERS happy. I have now made this room my room of choice. It is called DIAMOND BILLIARDS. It is located on Midlothian Turnpike (route 60)...if you are in richmond you can go to the Playing Field to see Todd Elkins of Parrot Cue to get cue work done, I love Todd to death and want to support him in everyway i can so The Playing Field is a great place to get a new tip, shop for a new cue, or just hang out with great people like TODD and RAYMAN....but if you wana play pool ...GOTO DIAMONDS ..HANDS DOWN THE BEST ROOM IN RICHMOND!! Ill stake my reputation on the forum on that one!!!!

I very very very much doubt that they are catering to POOL PLAYERS. If so, they will go out of business pretty quickly.

POOL PLAYERS, at least the ones I have heard whine.... want the following:

1. Perfect quiet. No music allowed.

2. They want $2.00 an hour table time..For TWO people..DURING ALL HOURS.

3. They want awesome food for the price of a McDonald's lunch. Including free refills.

4. They want the noisy groups of 4-5 people (buying hundreds of dollars of alcohol per night) thrown out, so they can fully concentrate on their $5.00 One Pocket game.

Everyone else, feel free to add to my list of what POOL PLAYERS want.. :D

5. I want to be physically carried around the table from shot to shot by the owner or his representative, to reduce my fatigue;

6. I want my Bloody Mary's with Absolut, salt on the rim, and an olive, for $2 each of course.

Steve...That's just LUDICROUS! Bloody Mary's do not have salt on the rim (that's a marguarita)...and they are served with celery, not olives (that's a martini)! The part about the Absolute is perfectly okay though! :D :D :D

I am sure I will be there in June or July to check out this pool room. It sounds DREAMY!

Please do post the website as soon as it gets published. I may come to Richmond a few days early and hang out before the Virginia State 9-Ball Championship. :)

I have many friends and students in Richmond, and I'm really looking forward to this pool school at Diamonds! From the description, it sounds like a room that would stand out anywhere in the country! :D

Growing up in Texas, that's how they made them! I especially like habanero mix as well. Yummmm! Crap, now I'll be thinking about this all day at work!

A buddy of mine moved there from Phoenix and I belive this is the place he is working at. He was telling me about how nice the room is etc. etc. He said they are hosting a Tiger event at the end of May.

If things turn out profiitable...(or at least close to break even) I may be on a plane down there for the tournament.

If Chris is your buddy he is a hell of guy...He is the kinda guy i would want running my pool hall if i owned one..and if it is Chris he is the house pro there at diamonds.

It sounds like you have a very nice pool room. I like you, think that when you find a pool hall that you really enjoy, you should try to help the owner succeed in making a profit.

Getting people there is half the battle. Keeping them there is the other half. Diamond Billiards is lucky to have customers like you.

Since I've met you, I know that you will do your part in making other customers feel welcome.

JoeyA (BTW, how much does the pool cue locker rent for?)

Thats him....A great bulk of my pool playing time was running around with him to various weekly tournaments and action.

Many nights we would get home just in time to take a shower and go to work...(and then the next night instead of sleeping...somehow we were back out in a tournament or action of some kind) ....I am not sure how we did it cause neither of us did any type of drug other than caffene.

And yes he pretty much is the perfect type to run a pool room...He has that kind of personality that he pretty much makes freinds with anyone he meets......I always told him he is an action magnet....He can go anywhere and get action (of some kind)...just based on his personality...People "enjoy" losing money to him.....so to speak...He has a nack for making the action "fun"...

He is what you would say is my "Brother from another Mother"..... Actually MANY people in the valley always thought he was my brother until we told them different.........;)

Although it sucks he is accross country...I am positive he is super happy doing what he is doing right now.....:)
