Pool Terminology

"playing off the wall"

aka using a house cue.

and not to be confused with hitting the cueball into the wall and back onto the table.

and there's the dreaded "air barrel" which nobody wants to except.

of course we know it is playing on guts with no money left to pay for losing.

then alot of places have one of these. "a trap table"

no it does not have a trap door that opens into a pit of hungry lions.

it is a table with tighter pockets than the standard.

skid, sandbag, back cut, shims, high roll, horse, calcutta, move, Diamond system, on the wire.

A 'tip' (or more) of english...Tom Rossman had a good definition/explaination of that.

Somebody mentioned shark...how about hustle.

Lots of good suggestions here...I hope you can get them all in your article.

L8R...Ken

3 pages in and not one mention of "getting shape".

And "drift".

(Except if I missed it! heh)

Looking forward to the article.

"The tittie got me!"

(the corner of the cushion around the side pocket)

A variation on the same theme I hear in bars around here after someone tries to shoot a ball down the rail past the side pocket into a far corner pocket and hits the far corner of the side pocket:

It must be cold in here, the nipples on the side tits are sticking out.

Inside English
Outside English

Squerve (Swerve + Squirt) all three....kind of new...

Oh yeah, "accelerate your cue tip through the cue ball". :-)
