Possible Rambow on Ebay????

What kills me is that people who are selling nice cues i.e Schons,Jacoby's etc hardly ever put the weight of the cue in the description when its so easy to take the cue to the post office and weigh it on there electronic postage scale!And the people bidding never ask the weight!!!

As I am sure those that made the comments had no intentions or the money to place a legit bid on this cue. Just wanting to be some knit that makes them feel wise to feel people in.
Though, for the true buyers of cues such as this, posting it here will do just as much to the final price as the comments.
 
Its one of my pet peeves here too, just not ebay.

Someone will come on here, ask what his cue is worth. The nit wits here give it a $3K value, and it really is a $1k cue.

The nit wits that say its a $3K cue, havent seen $3K ever, and have no idea what the cue is really worth.

I try to buy it for $1k, (its real value). Now the owner thinks I am trying to screw him and gets pissed. Never sells the cue.

IF YOU TELL SOMEONE WHAT THE CUE IS WORTH, YOU BETTER BE WILLING TO BUY IT AT THAT PRICE OR YOU SHOULD KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT. :rolleyes:

Rambo's cues

If you don't know you better ask somebody. Have as a winning bid paramater the cue must be sent to Paul Rubino for authentication. Many things about anything sold as a Rambo are hard to replicate.
Many factors add value to Rambo's and the # 1 is condition with signatures and initials in all the right places with provinance. One of the least being straightness.
I would think two initialed origional shafts wouls raise the value of this cue $1500 to $2000 higher than origional shafts with no initials.
No reciet from the origional owner or letter not LOA $500-$1K less.
Ivory bullet butt cap add $1K.
If this cue had these extras it would be a very expensive Ramdo example.
There is alot that needs to happen for a Rambo to sell for 5K and better. It is best to be safe buying collector cues. Invlove an expert you pay up or down. Their knowledge will prove a wise investment. Better yet,
tell the seller up front to get a LOA.....

Haven't you learned that people just want to try and show the world how smart they are?? When actually, they are just cutting their own throat. It is the way the world works.
 
the shafts could easily be made by palmer or paradice. as they both used screw ferrels alot.

I agree!!! I like it when a cue maker himself says yeah, I made that cue, it's a $5,000 cue, or it would cost $4,000 to replace it, but the cue itself is really only worth about half that. I won't say names, especially since I want one of his cues, but a famous cue maker on the East coast seems to do this often. It's just wonderful how someone selling his cue will say the cue maker himself says it's worth X amount of money, but it's not worth even close to that.
 
This is true, however MANY cuemakers actually ask and get quite a bit more for their cues than they bring second hand.
 
I was watching the end of the auction, halfway expecting MTPOCKETS4U to come in at the last second and freeze everybody out. The cue moved $300 in the last 20 seconds, and went for $2900. The Christmas Eve offer of $3K seems a little better than she actually will get, after fees.

So my question is, would it have been better to take a substantial offer like the $3K early on into the auction? Looks like she left only 10% on the table by not doing so, but this is all hindsight.

Did the seller do the right thing by letting the auction run it's course?

Well there is also a possibility that she ran it up on another account, or had a friend do it, and will give it to the "next" bidder at that cost. Therefore getting whatever that max value was.

Oh and I will admit I asked her to report the people who offered her off line deals to Ebay, hoping to get some accounts suspended...

Most on here agreed a long time ago not to reference any eBay auctions if they are not their own. Those who put in the work to search for themselves don't get rewarded when others make posts like this.
