Maybe This Should Be Made A Sticky At The Top Of The Page.

I'm Willing To Act As Escrow For 25 Dollars For The Transactions Done On Azbilliards.

I'll Take Pics Of The Cues, And Record All Shipping Transactions.

I'm Tired Of People Getting Ripped Off.

Anyone Interested In The Service Feel Free To Contact Me.

That's an outstanding idea.
It makes me sick reading all these stories about people getting robbed.

You're a good man, Marcus.

Good idea fast and loose.. Considering I just said something like that in another thread before you started this one. :p :p

Except I offered to do it for only $20 :-)

FOR A TRADE I WOULD DO IT FOR 20, BUT IF I NEED TO HANDLE MONEY, IT'S 25.

I have been offering this service for a long time now. To date only one person is using it and that is DoubleDave from the Netherlands. I have offered it up for a nominal fee just like Marcus to cover any cost with photos and shipping the package. If pics are needed I can take them. But for the most part it is just used for peace of mind. I think a sticky would be good just to have so people know who they can contact for this type of service.

They would pick you over me anyway no matter if I suggested doing this first or not..

I'm not part of the "In Crowd"

Have fun with it buddy :p

I only offered to begin with because I have a ton of free time on my hands.. Would of gave me something to do plus make a tiny amount of money. :-)

Great Idea

I think this is a great idea and there are many times that I would have gladly paid $25.00 just to be 100% comfortable with the deal and to be comfortable that the item you are buying matches the description given.

Make it happen :)

Great Idea. Does this mean you will accept payment and then send me cash? I need a good laundry service!

I DON'T EVEN DO MY OWN LAUNDRY.

I WOULD ACCEPT TWO SEPERATE PAYMENTS. ONE FOR THE CUE, AND ONE FOR THE SERVICE, PLUS THE SHIPPING COSTS.

Escrow Service

Excellent idea. I think this has the potential to get rid of some of the "Just Got Ripped Off by AZer *****" posts.

I question how the process would work, taking for example that someone of the forum has a cue to sell.

Will that person send you the cue, and you confirm the condition, tolerances, weights, details, etc. before posting it for sale? Will there be tolerances for what is new, test hit only, crookedness of a cue, 98% of new, hits like "the nuts", etc.?

Or are you just a middle man to hold onto the money before a cue is shipped to a buyer. Once the buyer accepts the cue, then you forward the money to the seller. If the buyer does not want the cue, they send it back to the seller - upon receipt of the returned cue by the seller, you then send the money back to the potential buyer?

Yeah but you need to be able to do a few things... read a caliper, judge condition accurately.. stuff like that.

Great Idea - you have my vote -

now as your first order of BIDNIZ at Executive in Charge of Azbilliards Escrow, I say the first thing you should do is ship Joe Rogan to Flushing, New York to choke out that A-hole that has ruined this for everybody. I will gladly donate the first $50 towards his round trip ticket.

THE CUE AND PAYMENT WOULD BE SENT TO ME. I WOULD EXAMINE AND TAKE PICS OF THE CUE, AND SEND THEM TO THE BUYER AND THE SELLER. I WOULD THEN SEND THE CUE TO THE BUYER, ONCE RECEIVED I WOULD SEND PAYMENT TO THE SELLER.

P.S. I WOULD NOT JUDGE HIT....IT'S TOO SUBJECTIVE.

Excellent idea and very reasonable. Not that I will be buying anything from anybody that is unknown at this point but this should be very well execpted and needed.

When I first joined AZ Billiards, friends of mine that were active on AZB told me that they would "vouch" for me in case I decided to buy or sell something. It seems a though in the last couple of years we have gotten away from this mentality, and that combined with the scammers coming out of the woodwork, some type of escrow service is needed. It's unfortunate, but it is reality.

Unless I was going through a reputable buyer/seller (like Danktrees or NineBall for example) I would definitely go through this if I was buying from a buyer/seller without a reputation.

I suggested this idea months ago but my thread got ZERO traction. I didn't suggest who, just that it should happen.
