That is a beautiful case. I would be afraid to set it down anywhere for fear somebody would steal it. :embarrassed2:
In fact, I'd hang it on my wall and admire it all the time. That's a good-looking case, but I don't think I would be comfortable carrying it around in pool rooms for fear of damaging it.
I have a Native American purse I bought at Turning Stone for $500 after Keith won at craps, and I have yet to wear it anywhere for fear of ruining it. I love this purse. It is hanging in my room.
I don't blame you. The Native ladies that dance the Pow Wow circuit and Dance Ladies Traditional, use leather dresses, (very heavy and hot), and have absolutely hundreds of hours of hand crafted bead work on them.
I am going to venture a guess on something that I heard many years ago, that these dresses are in about the 5000 dollar range. Probably more now. I can't imagine the amount of sore fingers that are involved in making one.
I am still in the process of making a native themed cue. A local native artist is going to do the art work on it. At one time, I had considered a bead wrap but figure that it would be difficult to make/shape and install and probably wouldn't last long regardless if precautions were made so I nixed that idea.
Even a little bead work is expensive unless you are related to an Old Kokum that loves you. Even then, it will cost you an arm and leg for the tobacco.
