Winning by a LANDSLIDE, is SJD for pointing out some finer points about your hero, that hasn't really done much for pool since "the million dollar challenge, pool's greatest miss..."

Folks like mark here, the blind follower of the big name, don't grow pool. They kiss ass looking for hand outs and pats on top of there head. When's the last time you helped pool by ACTUALLY buying a product? Have you even bought CJ's new masterpiece? Just off the top of my head between streams, tournaments, pool gear (NOT INCLUDING THE $10K I SPENT ON A NEW TABLE, CUE, AND CASE.) I've sunk about $2-3k back into pool just in 2013. (Granted not a huge number, but I'm a busy man with career, wife, and child.) I buy every stream I have time to watch, I buy all the apparel I like, I donate to junior billiard programs, and I go out of my way to help ANYONE, including you if you ask, grow their game. That's what it takes to help pool grow, nothing crazy like making a documentary, though it does help. It simply ACTIVELY participating in pool. First of all I am not clear to who you are, but here it goes. In 2013 I bought every live stream available from TAR, accu-stats, etc.. I bought a Gold Crown Three in 2013 that I posted a picture of in the 14.1 section of the forums under the Gold Crown thread.. I have been a guest on Mark Canrell's talk show to share my ideas how to improve pool's future and lend my name to the sport. I have been friends with many pros since the early 80's. I have lent my name to the game in TV matches dating back to 1993. I have befriended pool players on Facebook such as Johnny Archer, Shane Van Boening and Dennis Hatch so that when they make a post it is seen by millions of my bands fans, Great White. Even though I am only a 70 ball straight pool runner I dedicate myself and I am a student who has a deep passion and respect for the game. Jay Helfert has called me the number one celebrity player..When people disrespect a helpful top pro who I know i personally and I also to know to be good people, I am going defend my friend. I didn't know CJ from Adam and I came into his pool room in 1990 and he played me super cheap sets for 3 hrs. He told me a lot to help me with my game, signed his autograph with a personal message, and he paid the time. People that do things like that are not all about self serving. I came into his house and I was taken care of and treated with the upmost respect by CJ. How many nickels I bet on who I will keep my business. I will put it this way, pool is my favorite game and I have sold 12 million records...

Mark and I have gambled at 9 Ball at CJ's Billiard Palace in Dallas Some might not know, but Mark's the guitar player for GREAT WHITE, and has many, many hits (Platinum) that were on virtually every juke box in America. (they have over 2.6 million views on You Tube). Their songs have generated hundreds of millions in total sales.

Mark took the 6/7/8/9 and we played several sets, and it took me 3 hours to "get the cash," and I had to earn it. Mark plays great for a celebrity player and I made the comment that he and Joe Rogan play close, although (Jay Helfert gave Mark the "edge"). Either way, Mark showed me a lot of heart, few celebrities will gamble getting the 6/7/8/9 ......it would be fun if they did.

Well first, thanks for the supporting pool! I do genuinely mean that, it needs all it can get. From what I've found, you seem to have done quite a bit for the game, and for that I sincerely thank you. I made an equally presumptuous statement as to your standings in pool, whether gambling or otherwise. For that I apologize.

It's obvious you are friends with CJ, and have a biased opinion of him and what his intentions are on AZB. I applaud you for supporting a friend, though I feel you still don't understand the complaint. We will just have to agree to disagree on CJ's real motives. I will continue to believe CJ is selling CJ, not building pool, and you will continue to believe the opposite. At the end of the day my opinion is that CJ would do a lot more by being a genuine contributor to the site, instead of a traveling salesman passing through. That's really my only complaint about him. He only seems to post to sell.

I know full well the old saying, "If you're good at something, never do it for free." I'm not asking CJ to give all his little TOI secrets away for free, and I'm not asking for the real scoop on the million dollar challenge for free. The CJ "haters" aren't even really hating on CJ, just annoyed that every post of his seems to be a sales pitch, or to bump a sales pitch back to the top.

I'm sure CJ's pry a good guy in person, but to me he seems only to be here on AZB to make a buck.

Either way I'm done with this arguing. None of it will change anything. CJ will keep being CJ, and I will keep being annoyed. In this game there are far less knockers/haters than we all think. We are all here because of a love of pool at some level. Its the petty differences (like this one) that we let grow between us, and keep us from working together to move pool forward. If we put half as much effort into arguing, and put that toward instead into advancing pool on all levels, our pool world would be a far better place.

If you haven't noticed CJ has a big advertisement on the home page of AZ billiards so I guess he is also paying for the privilege to list his wares which in the end helps support this whole deal.

I can understand the owners or mods having a problem with something being in the wrong forum, but I don't get why it bothers some of the average members as much as it appears to. Gene of Perfect Aim fame has been putting his thinly disguised advertisements in the Main Forum for awhile now, without getting much flack.

It appears that some have a problem with C.J. in particular. SJD for one, is so jealous he can't stand it. SJD, aka San Jose Dick, aka Dick McMorran, rumor has it, was actually a top player back in the 1950's and 1960's (put the Jergen's down Dick.). He probably has a lot to offer in the way of pool history as he has seen and played such guys as Fats, Eddie Taylor, Jersey Red, etc.. But no, he thinks talking about that would be bragging. And he has assumed the position of the brag police, as he likes to attach himself to someone's ass and start chewing. C.J. is the latest host for this parasite. Good job Dick, let's not have any of that talking about pool around here.

If someone has a problem with CJ promoting any video, they're the one with the problem -- not CJ nor AZB.

CJ invests more time into posting information and helping other people than he does promoting his videos. In that respect, he's earned the right to promote whatever he wants because he re-invests into the forum and the members' education.

If someone has a problem with CJ promoting any video, they're the one with the problem -- not CJ nor AZB.

CJ invests more time into posting information and helping other people than he does promoting his videos. In that respect, he's earned the right to promote whatever he wants because he re-invests into the forum and the members' education.

Again its the main forum and there is no way CJ posts more valuable info for free than he does promoting his self and his products ,, I think there is at least 5 threads on just the million dollar collage and that's probably a conservative number ,, I would think if it was a topic of great interest one thread would suffice yet its like a infomercials and trailers run over and over again ,, although there is a bright side we haven't seen a TOI trailer in a while

The rules in the main forum mean you can get some critics unlike the for sale forum where bashing the product is not allowed so as long as he posts here he is open game

Sorry, I don't get it. What's wrong with making a buck. Seems like an appropriate place to sell a product.

If you haven't noticed CJ has a big advertisement on the home page of AZ billiards so I guess he is also paying for the privilege to list his wares which in the end helps support this whole deal.

I guess all I'm saying is goodluck and thanks for that CJ; I hope you can make a bit of dinero for your effort.

Thanks, I appreciate that....simple appreciation IS a "Big Deal" and it makes it all worth while....we are strongly motivated, not by profit, by passion.

The fact of the matter is we spent over 25k to produce, edit and create this documentary and we probably won't even "break even"......we have another "agenda" and it's certainly not selling DVDs.....we are committed to bringing the Game of pool back to TV and there's an order of events that have to be consummated for this to happen. We have some key people involved and it's only a matter of time.

'Billiard's Perfect Miss' is only the beginning, and quite frankly it's an honor to be able to share such an engaging story from my own experience. For those that decide to purchase the documentary we thank you and hope you enjoy the thousands of hours/dollars it represents from 1996 to the present day. If I had to do go through it again, I would, again, and again, and again, and again!!! 'The Game is Our Teacher'

Should be talk about unusual places to ..............

I can understand the owners or mods having a problem with something being in the wrong forum, but I don't get why it bothers some of the average members as much as it appears to. Gene of Perfect Aim fame has been putting his thinly disguised advertisements in the Main Forum for awhile now, without getting much flack.

It appears that some have a problem with C.J. in particular. SJD for one, is so jealous he can't stand it. SJD, aka San Jose Dick, aka Dick McMorran, rumor has it, was actually a top player back in the 1950's and 1960's (put the Jergen's down Dick.). He probably has a lot to offer in the way of pool history as he has seen and played such guys as Fats, Eddie Taylor, Jersey Red, etc.. But no, he thinks talking about that would be bragging. And he has assumed the position of the brag police, as he likes to attach himself to someone's ass and start chewing. C.J. is the latest host for this parasite. Good job Dick, let's not have any of that talking about pool around here.

I'm not sure what to talk about if it's not pool related......hmmm?
