Pro Players that deserve RESPECT

Well, i guess you got your point across having convicted the pro life.
Why not just start naming the ones you detest so badly?

You mean the point that you made up for me? I don't detest any of them. The op asked for names, I gave him four. That's four more than you apparently came up with.;)

Totally agree ... Eberle (when I first met him) asked if I wanted to practice cheap... and volunteered his skill level. There are multitudes of people whom I DO respect, but not deserve respect. If I may, I'd rather revise that wording to read, "Who's earned respect. For that matter, Jack Cooney, Joyner, Alex P, probably Hall but I haven't seen him play in person enough to know his behavior.

The only other argument I'll throw in there against the premise of this is that... respecting a person vs. respecting a person's play aren't the same.

The list continues:
Feijen?
Mizerak
Gentile
Jeremy Jones
Owen
Stalev
Bustamante
McMorran
Wiley
Daulton
Deuel
Matlock
Luat
Souquet
Incardona
DiLiberto
Grady
Ismael
Hernandez
Gulyassy
R. Morris
Ortman
Chamat

...and I'm sure many others.

LOL @ Grady

Shannon Daulton

these are the only ones I know well enough to really put the full measure of the word respect up there. I know plenty others but can't go too much further and use that word to describe their character.

Respect is Earned, not Given

I have quite a few videos of him -- whats he done that makes you find that comical?

Professional Pool Players don't "deserve" respect any more than anyone else and this, of course, goes without saying.

I have seen Earl Strickland do this many times in the past as well. Earl might have his hang ups, but he is going to want to win far and square. From all I have seen of him anyways.

Earl always wants to win , but fair and square, pure comedy

I don't think you can really respect anyone that you haven't known for a long time and had dealings with them. Johnnyt

I'm a pool player! I respect other players by their abilities to play pool!

I understand some players are not as great at life as they are at pool and that just goes into who they are as a human being. Making shots and getting position is what I respect...

Corey Duell=Respect
Thorsten Hohmann=Respect
Dennis Orcullo=Respect
SVB=Respect
Earl=Respect

Well maybe being german I´m biased, but I also have to go with Thorsten!
Top-notch professional, physically fit as can be and an all around super nice guy.
I don't really understand why he hasn't played a TAR match yet (of course I don't have to ) but in an all-around match-up 8b,10b and 14.1 I wouldn't know too much people that will bet against him. I'd stay awake for that one, thats for sure

Also, ask Scott Frost :D

For those of you who dislike BB I'm sorry for using this pic ;) But the gesture was too nice and the run too spectacular

smeone said Earl, we watched him playing Charley Williams a few years ago, we saw it and Charlie saw it and most of the audience saw it,but the ref didnt, i guess the ref was day dreaming or something, and someone said Mosconi, i heard he was a real a**hole to people. I think anyone can have a bad day,i like good sportmanship too,but i have had my days, mostly mad at myself, never threw balls or my cue or chalk, thats just silly. I got a little upset one time playing Richie Richison once at a local tournament. i broke and ran 2 racks on a 9 ft GC and was working on 3 and got to the nine almost straight in slight angle and missed it. I wanted to break my cue, dont know why, just wanted that game that bad, well after that i watched him run out, and run out and run out, and i never get back to the table. I just wanted to beat him really bad, because he had just beaten another world beater,so if i beat him, it would have made me the king for a day...lol...he beat Mark Jarvis in the finals...it should have been me darn it...lol

I've never know tony Crosby , Donnie mills , or bartrum to do anything dishonest.
They might be nut hunters though.

Dont confuse their ability to play pool as to who lead a clean life on and off the table

I did not add Earl to the list. I mentioned I have seen many times of him calling a foul on himself as opposed to letting it go. Though the Earl of today acts a bit different than Earl in the past.

But I did say Willie Mosconi and Nick Varner.
