Problems with Pierce cues

where's snowman34

J-FLO bought a cue he wasn't happy with. The seller and a cue maker tried to fix it, now J-FLO has a cue he is still not happy with and snowman34 has his $650, shouldn't the seller return the money and take the cue back. I am sure Mr. Pierce will fix it for him???

One that I would NOT be to pleased with from a custom cuemaker... heck, my Players that I use as house cues for my friends/family in my basement don't roll like that, and that's after being in my basement the last 10 years.

So, the solution is pretty simple. Jim owes ONE shaft to JFLO, and a straight one would be nice. Thus, JFLO would have the 2 shafts he was promised and at least one of them is very straight and would most likely satisfy JFO. JFLO can use the "bad" shaft in the dive bars, and just be a needed back up.

So, how about Jim. One shaft, a tad "smoother" now, and you are good to go, and JFLO is back to being a happy customer that he should be, and snowman will be happy as well that you did this, and future customers will see you step up to the plate, which many in the past here refused to do.

C'mon, lets get this done, it's not personal, it's business. I've heard some good things about you and only two negative things... this is the second negative thing I've heard, eventually the reputiation is won or lost through perception, not reality sometimes.

Nailed it. Whether Jim is a "great guy" to a select few nuthuggers OR the "taper roll" is minor, it doesn't matter.

Jim said he'd fix the issue with a new shaft AND repair the old shaft. He didn't follow through. Jim's in the wrong here.
 
How old is Pierce anyway? By the 10 year old text speak jibberish, he comes across as pretty young.

Another possible reason for the wobbly shaft is maybe he turned down a rather green shaft and it warped within a few days of cutting. This could also happen if the shaft grain is not very straight. If you still have the shaft in the coming weeks I would be curious to see if still has the same roll as when you received it.

I got a lot of people wanting to know about snowman in all this. When I first got the cue, I was talking to snowman and I told him I was not satisfied with the cue cause it had bad threads. This was hours after receiving the cue. He blamed it on Jim. Of course Jim said it didn't leave the shop like that. I cant say how it got that way but when I got the cue wood shavings fell out of the shaft. Here is were it gets crazy. Snowman tells me to send it to jim to see what he says. Jim told me he would give me a new shaft if in fact it was bad. After sending it to him he sent me a text mesg that was not clear but the way I took it was he was only changing the tip on the shaft and it would be ok. At that point I asked Jim not to touch it and leave it as is cause I was sending it back to Snowman for a refund. Jim them changed the story to " I don't want that shaft out there with my name on it cause its bad" ( then why send it back to me? never could figure that one out) so he was going to make a new shaft for it and send it to snowman and he wanted snowman to send a refund. so I called snowman and asked for a refund and that Jim would return the cue to him snowman and Jim had a heated phone conversation that i did not hear but pieced it together by listening to both sides of the story. So Jim agrees to make me a new shaft and drill out, plug and re-tap the first shaft for me to have a spare to make up for all the BS. That brings us to yesterday when I got the stick back with one shaft that was not his best work. Like I said, Im sick of all the BS with this deal. Im going to order a OB and be done with it.

EDIT: I love the look of the cue but the shaft is bad, Just saying.

If he did sent it out straight, he would have immediately apologized for it, and had a new one on the way. And assumed the risks of mailing the shaft to his customer.

But he didn't, he only "claims" it was good when sent out, ya know, like what he claims when he sent out the first "gaffe" shaft... that he even admitted was a gaff shaft... but we all know he would NEVER send out a gaffe shaft, so sending out one with a bad roll would be way OUT of character, right :rolleyes:

You got to have a sense of humor in all of this. I don't really know if it fits cause I was not happy to see only one shaft when I opened the tube.

JonTravisTaylor is one of the Jim Pierce cronies. As to the shaft screwing on loose, that is exactly how the shaft fit for the one Pierce made for me. I got the same treatment you did J-flo, complete with the nasty emails, etc....

Be sure to save the emails and communication from Pierce, as I have done, they speak volulmes about to his personality and business dealings.

That doesn't sound like something Jim would do. All the time I've known him he's been real chill. Any chance we could see the txt conversation? With both his and your responses ? That way we get an idea what both sides of the story are

That's the taper roll that you're complaining about????? I wouldn't have a problem with that shaft at all. Looks like less than a credit card thickness of a difference at the apex. I think your judging it real real harsh

I hope Jim makes this right. It would be bad for business if he didn't. I love Jim's cues and I don't want to lose respect for the man. Make it right Jim.
 
Is there any other game that has so many one man operations making equipment? Let me know if you can think of one.
