Proof and Truth!!!!!!!!

WOW! Hey Aaron. Just checked out your website. The Pat Diveney cue you have on your website as a refinish job, did you do that job for an AZ member? If so, I'm sure I'm the new owner of that cue. Never seen another like it. And if so, GREAT JOB on the refinish!! I just had Dave Bollman make 2 30" shafts for it. I dropped the butt off to him on a Friday and when I went back the next day to pick it up he said he had alot of people asking about the cue.

P.S. You saved Pat's signature on the refinish job. :>)

It was like watching a sinking ship, anyone and everyone was on your case, some people had a lot to say when they never dealt with you first place, as I said in the other post, you always have done right by me......

Thanks

I agree. I'm just wondering how long, typically, it takes for wood to shrink and inlays to pop up.

It is inconsistent from cue to cue, sometimes months sometimes many years. I have noticed once a cue with this problem is refinished it is cured - it seems to hold it's surface smoothness and polish for a very long time. In fact, virtually none of the cues I've had refinished have had problems with the inlays popping up again. The newer finishes seem to seal up the wood better.

By the way, I've only used Scot Sherbine and Michael Webb for refinish jobs and I am very happy with their work.

i am patiently waiting to get my cue back :)

i sent it with the explicit instructions that i was in no hurry for it..

i sent it in long before this problem arouse and of course this big episode does not have me worried in anyway..

after i get my cue back, i will be sure to give an accurate description of
dealing and the work.. of corse.. i will be honest and everyone can be assured, if the work is great and everything works out for me , i will post as such.. if i have a bad experience , i will post about that too..

i am online friends with both guys that were involved in this last deal, and its hard to be biased and stand on the sidelines because both have very valid points.. i can see it on both sides..

i have no doubts in my mind that i will get an excellend job on my cue.. and that it isnt my main playing cue, i am not worried if it takes a longer amount of time.. but i just thought i would say, up to this point, my dealing with aaron has been really good.. both from buying and selling, he was always quick to respond when needed..

i have also dealt with Sore Aintya and he is also a great person to deal with
and is also very nice and i talk to him on a dailer basis in pm on the forum..

it really stinks when two good people get into a conflict over something..

i feel for both of you guys... and i look forward to seeing how this whole thing will turn out for everybody involved.....

Nice

Here is your cue Chris in Process. Coming along very well. The color of your veneers are Blue by the way. They looked green with that yellowed finish. Thanx Aaron 815-243-1101:D

So Painpool did you offer to have your wife forge the signature or not? Only two things in this whole deal as far as I, a potential refinish customer, am concerned about is did you offer to have your wife sign the cue and the language/tone you take towards a unhappy customer. I'm sure I'm not the only one out there that are curious to hear your answer.

Aaron..
i wasnt sure if you even started it yet.. i knew you said you were pretty busy when i sent it..

looks great.. yeah.. i thought for sure they were green.. yeah.. Mike did a terrible finish years ago huh?

anyways.. your going to have to fix that program you use to save the pics..lol.. how many amazing troy downey pics do you take? lol

Yes

After 14 days of trying to get a hold of Russ I threw out anything thing I could think of. I asked him if he wanted a letter from Russ instead which I felt was plenty by itself, along with the pics of the signature taken before finish and it not being a rare cue I figured that would be enough. Live an learn. Understand very clearly that this is something I have never done but I felt under the gun from him and with no where to turn. Making him happy was very very important to me! So I threw it to him and he said no. That was the end of it. As far as the language goes we all make mistakes. Thanx Aaron 815-243-1101

Did you also state something similar to "she is good at these types of things?" If so, how often does this occur that she has become "good" at it? I'm just wondering because as a potential customer I have seen several things you have listed, but this statement makes it seem like forging signatures is common practice of yours (and I would surmise your wife too). Now I'm starting to question anything you have/had for sale. Could you clear this up?

Amazing!!!!!!!!!!!

If you want to know the short of it, I think Arons problem is he is honest.
He really didn't have to say anything about anything. He put the owner first and was honest.
Only someone as dumd as me would see this simple truth. And I understand one simple fact! He could have just Bull$hitted his way out of it. He didn't.
What is his honesty worth?

Nick

Nick, I guess you have different definition of "honest". I don't consider counterfeiting signatures on cues "honest" .... we would not have known about this unless the original poster disclosed this information first.

I remember you used to have issues with Aaron for refinishing Scruggs cues ... I guess not anymore.

Very true Jazz!

Hay Ho:)
Jazz is like EF Hutton to me! When Jazz speaks I listen!
You are right. I did however wind up owning the cue in question. Big suprise, me buying a Scruggs. The cues finish was extremely high quality work and the cue looked amazing. So I ate those words thanks for reminding me.
He just begged that thing back from me so I guess he thinks well of his work too.
He made the maple boxes look burled. Nice work and funny thing.
His last name is Painter. How can you deny a name like that.
Nick
Ps Still owe you one

Wait a minute, No, I stated that because my wife is very artistic. I knew, had I asked her to do it she would have done a very nice job. On the flip side I guarantee you the first thing out of her mouth would have been is ( Is this ok with the customer ) no games will ever be played and work will always co inside with that, PERIOD!!!! To answer your question which I appreciate.

JAZZ I find that statement very intresting. We have done nothing, but flawless deals!!! Nick was never upset about a SCRUGGS. I made a statement to him that I would be happy to redo the Lizard on a cue that he took on trade, as I felt it was not my best and I wanted it perfect./// You see, I expect as close to possible to perfection and even after a 3rd party recieves a cue after a trade, I will still offer a redo if there is any issues with in a reasonable amount of time. That is the true difference!!! I don't care who owns it 2 weeks down the road or what ever. It's about the quality to me and my work!! PERIOD!!! IT MUST BE RIGHT!!! In fact I will give anybody a 1 year guarantee against my work, not bullsh@# no damage in a poolhall, but against rings popping and any natural cause. You Jazz have never had a problem with me and I find your statement un founded and plain rude!!!! Thanx Aaron 815-243-1101

Jazz is right

In a previous thread I said Aron Don't touch the finish. The cue would be worth more in origional condition. But when it comes out the way that cue did there is only a gain in value and at worse no lose of value. Many collecters want origional only. They pay the most. Every time! As for Jazz we talk and I still owe him one!
Thanks
Nick

If you are saying "No, I didn't state that.", well then you are a bold face liar.
