Many of you know Pt109, Paul Thornley, Canadian pool legend and Alex Pagulayan’s mentor and forum regular.

Alex just sent an email as follows:

“After suffering two devastating strokes, Paul is now bedridden, paralyzed on his right side, and requires full-time care. While awaiting long-term placement, he urgently needs support for medical equipment, caregiving, medication, physiotherapy, and
daily living expenses.”

Alex is doing a raffle with all proceeds going to Paul. Please consider buying a ticket if you can. And also show some love in this thread - Paul is still able to read AZ I think- he just can’t post.

As it happens, Accu-Stats has just put up a match of PT playing Mike Lebron. It’s a great match.

Paul is a big man in our little world.

Is there a direct-contribute link, anybody know?

Alex’s email says “100% of proceeds will go
directly toward Paul's care and support.” So you can just buy tickets and get a chance to win some prizes.

If you want another way to contribute directly, let me know and I can put you I touch with Alex’s guys that are running this.

I think a direct contribution would be used.

I don't want any of the prizes, even to sell, and would rather leave those to folks that would appreciate them.

I was about to share this as well. Thanks Gideon! Please support Pagulayancues.com to aid Paul Thornely for the challenges he is facing right now.

Sad news indeed. Paul has always been a shining representative of the old guard here on the forum with a wealth of knowledge and information. I had the opportunity to meet him just once and thought highly of him. Hoping for the best.

Wow! I haven't seen Paul in at least 25 years and have only messaged him in the past year or two. We go back to 1970 and spent countless nights talking all things pool, life etc. Best wishes to my old friend.

Used to go to Le Spot in Toronto years ago for the ten dollar flat fee all day play. PT was a mainstay there for a while. Always loved his presence and the fun stories and jokes.

He'd just be there with his laptop browsing through azb threads and watching bangers like me knock some balls around, and once in a while, he would come up and give you tips and tell you how to do a cool shot on the table! But I rarely saw him actually play orneven just shoot around.

My best memory of PT was one day him complimented my Josey and asked if he could shoot a few shots with it...in my head im screaming heck yea please! Grabbed my cue, inspected it, got down and fired 3 long shots all hitting centre pocket. He then declared "that is a nice player's cue!" (wich i am embarrassed a little cuz im just a banger lol).
