Put Earl Strickland on Team USA in 2017 Mosconi Cup

I never saw Earl in person
He played as good as anyone I guess

He seemed like a bad actor on the videos I saw

i personally wouldn't invite him over to play

But this i know

Jam knows more about pool players than any ten Az responders

and if she thinks earl belongs on the team

He belongs on the team

I love Earls game of the past. He's one of the few players I'll watch playing 9 ball. It's hard to say for a big fan like me, but I think his time on the Mosconi team is over.

His mental condition looks like it's deteriorating every year. He can't even hold it together in small exhibition tournaments anymore, without going off on kids, refs and spectators alike. Remember these are expenses paid small handicap tournaments in Europe where everyone is cheering him on (at least until he goes berserk for some imaginary infraction).Imagine what would happen under the tv lights with a hostile crowd. For an individual tournament the risk is mostly on himself, but for a team game like this, the risk is that he'll drag the whole team down into the hole with him...

Sadly his physical game is not what it once was. It is still very, very good, but he's got a lot more competition now. While he can perform at top US levels, the risks of him imploding is too great to consider him. I think the US should look to the future and select one of the younger players. You should take the long view and build a team for the future. I'm still rooting for Earl to do well, even more for him to get his act together, but the Mosconi cup is not the venue for that.

JAM,

I didn't want to do it, but your reference to him having a "hard-on" for Earl forced me.

A long time ago, II was trying to figure out how BeiberLvr got his name and I figured he must love Justin Bieber, then I realized that the spelling was different than Bieber's name.

So, I did a search on Google for "beiber" and here is what came up

WARNING WARNING WARNING WARNING

LOOK AT YOUR OWN RISK

NOT FOR THE TIMID

I don't think I'd want to be posting on forums, with a name like BeiberLvr

Damn Hawaiian dude. I could have gone my whole life just thinking this dude was a Justin Bieber fan. Which is bad enough, but this???

He snapped his Cuetec at the MC in a moment of rage , cost him his sponsorship

Yeah, after ONLY 17 years they finally said it was enough? Or, was it because Earl was older and not winning as often. Yeah, we know the answer to that one.

Well obviously if he was playing top gear he might get a flyer ,, but this isn't a popularity contest even with that he's only getting 50% of the vote I'd say 50% or better doesn't care how he's playing they just want to see him on the team
The fact is Earl has never been a ambassador of pool its take take take with him the pool world owes him nothing

I don't know what tournament....I assume a more serious one....
...you know, no guaranteed money, if you don't cash you get no money.

Ya not one your paid to attend where you win even when you lose , watched by a few railbirds not a production watched by thousands , huge difference

no, no, no PT, if you compete, you must be a robot without emotion. The railbirds who don't even attend the events demand it ;)

As an interesting side note, the human eye can distinguish approximately 10 million colors. Apparently, there is more to the world than black and white although color television is a rather new invention having only been around since 1954 when the Tournament of Roses Parade was aired on New Year's Day.

You keep throwing around the word snowflake. Yet you are defending a man, who when the littlest thing goes wrong, resorts to acting like a complete child.

I do not think this is true. I recall when Earl lost the Cuetec sponsorship, the lady in charge retired. The company was sold to -- I want to say -- a Japanese entity. Everything changed at that point with Cuetec. Diana Hoppe told me this, and she is in the position of knowing firsthand some of the details better than me. So this is hearsay on my end, but I believe Diana.
