Hi, I'm looking for someone to refinish my Que Perfect cue, preferably someone in the Midwest. However, I'm open to shipping it outside of the Midwest if I have to. My local cue shop is refusing to do an entire refinishing on my particular cue. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

If it is a real Que Perfect cue I don't think you have to worry about having it refinished. I don't think that Ronnie used overlays on his Que Perfect cues. Now they did some colored scrimshaw work and you would lose that detail with most refinish methods. Show us some pictures of the cue and we could give you a better idea. Ryan has a lot of experience at refinishing so I think you can trust him.
Ronnie used real inlays. One thing though is that he used a lot of layers when applying his finish, fantastic finish with a lot of work, between 15-20 layers Is a good guess (he didn´t have the setup that is common among other CM´s, I visited him for 2 weeks so I saw everything) that actually adds a bit of weight to the cue, he even used it to get the exact balance point desired - he is a perfectionist.
With that said I think it would be wise to measure everything up before refinishing so the result can match the original, if it´s important to you of course.
Great cues and fantastic players, still have some left if anyone is interested.

I thought I've heard of everything.
He uses epoxy coat then, not auto clear .
The last time someone refinished his cue here was Varney. And the thread had to be deleted as Varney and the owner were accused of stealing that cue .
To the original poster, if you must have it refinished, you can't go wrong with RAT.
Oh man...... I hope your luck is better than mine. Every time I say something is gonna be easy, it turn into a nightmare.
But, if anyone can make it "perfect" it certainly is you.

I don´t think so. Tried to reach him a couple of times but no answer. I know he mowed though.

As far as Ronnie goes, I last spoke with him october 2013, right around when they were hit with that big storm. He was susposed to make me a few more cues, but after that storm hit he never responded anymore. I have been sending him emails every month since then without any response. I too need mine refinished but I dont trust anyone with such a work of art.
