Hello,
Some of you might know that I introduced myself on here 2-3 weeks ago and offered some of the cues I've built for sale. Post was named "anyone want cues with G-10". I sold 7 cues to 5 different customers. 2 are not members of azbilliards forum, they watch for good deals or something that catchs there eye. 3 are members and very respected for there opinions and thoughs. All 3 members to my suprise, as a condition for buying a cue I can't tell anyone that they bought a cue from me until they tried it and what ever. Keep in mind these are three different people, asking for the same amminimoty? Well I thought nothing of it. I got Paid for the cues, sent them out, 1 needed to be finished so It took 5 days more. Any way they've all had there cues for atleast 2 weeks. One sent his cue back to have us build him 2 extra shafts with it, and exclaimed this might be the softest hitting cue he's ever played with, and how much he loves it. Guy #2 Say's he likes the hit but the 14' taper is alittle too much for him"he has shot with a schular w/ a 10in. taper for 7 years. So he sold the cue to a friend, at a profit, and sent the money to me and is now having us build him a new cue w/ stiffer shafts. His friend loves the cue by the way. Guy #3 Who in my opinion has a very good reputation for knowing what a good cue hits like" and alot of you out there would agree if I could tell you who he is. Anyway he bought 2 cues, A playing cue, and a Master Blaster B/J. He said the same thing as guy #1 Soft hit, great feel and that his custom cue by a popular cue maker is in the closet. And he loves the break/jump too quote him: pounds the balls like no other, jumps like a dream. Great comments. I will admit I'm not satisfied w/our finishing, that is our big project right now. But all in all nothing but great comments.
Here's where I don't understand????
I asked them all if they could take a minute and post a quick note and let other people know what they thought about our cues, and this is what all of them said, in a nut shell.
Well you're pretty new and I'd hate to offend other cue makers that have been apart of this forum for along time and never bought a cue from them, it might burn bridges.
I don't want the other guys on this forum to know I bought a cue from a very unknown cue maker, I'd get so much Sh&*.
You need to get a reputation, if others start posting, I will too.
2 of them said If I did post their names, they'd slam my cues????
This isn't the way it is, Is it? I thought you got a reputation #1 by what others thought about your cues and telling people about them, and how you conduct business. I don't think I'm the next big thing or anything like that but why would people be embarrased to talk about a cue they bought from a unknown cue maker? I read threads all the time talking about this guy, and this guy and so on. Did I say something wrong in any of my past posts that might make people feel this way? If I did I'm sorry, I'd just like a chance.
If anyone has any thing constructive to say, good or bad, or just an opinion I welcome it.
Sorry for the whinning, I just don't really understand, anyone else encountered this??
