Rags to Rifleman

Well I figured since the prices were so hi Keep them in demand and sell them for more than a usual price. Signed and numbered, dated etc. Maybe he can sell them for $7 apiece. He might be ablke to use the money as his wife if very sick right now. Which ever maked him the most money right now would be good.

Maybe $70. Johnnyt

I read an original copy years ago that a friend lent me. Great read even with the ridiculously small font. I'd be interested in purchasing another copy just to read it again.

I'd say 40.00 would be the max if you want to sell a decent amount of copies. I'd buy one.

If Bob Jewett doesn't post in the thread in the next day or so, you might consider shooting him a pm. Bob keeps a much closer eye on the used/rare billiard book market than I do these days. We were discussing the availability of Billiards: Hustlers and Heroes, Legends and Lies, and the Search for Higher Truth on the Green Felt by John Grissim and Bob posted a whole bunch of links to reasonably priced copies when the copies on Ebay were approaching $275.00. {that's the second best book after McGoorty, in my opinion}

Holy crap I own all 3 of those, plus Hustlers, Beats, and others. I never knew they were selling for so much now. I really need to start keeping up with the market prices of the books I own.

Don't forget, they bring whatever somebody will pay:rolleyes:

I work in the book biz.

Which publishing house did the original two printings?

Was it self published? Was Buddy Hall the only credited author?

What is the book's ISBN, if it has one?

I have a friend that loaned me his copy, I took one look at how small the print was and never got around to reading it. I'd have to get some of those Super Duper Focus glasses to read it. My eyes just aren't very good for reading anymore, LOL. Thank God the balls are different colors :o...

In 1995 - 1996 this book was sold by Huckleberry Pub. Co., BEBOB Pub., Mueller, and me [ under the name...QRunner... at the '96 US Open 9Ball Tournament]

The best place to obtain a loaner book ... is to go to your local library and ask for an inter library check.

All published books are at the Library of Congress, Washington, DC

see link

Here another example "Winning one-pocket : --as taught by the game's greatest players" by Eddie Robin

So Check your Local Library and see if youy can obtain the book from another library in United States.

Hope this help!

I saw a copy a few months ago for $60. I really wish I snapped it up because I went to buy it a week later and it was gone. No surprise to me I saw one for sale later for a couple hundred.

Next time I see one for $60 I'm getting it. I just want to read it. I have no interest in resale, or collectibility.

Crap...looks like I should put my mint copy up for sale before a new printing kills its value. I think I saw a completed listing on Ebay once for 324 bucks.

Anyone else remember when you could get almost all your money back on Accu-Stats vhs matches? Now only the rare ones get more than $7

That's because most people threw away their VHS players a while ago :-) The next collectible will be TAR match DVDs, although once they start streaming the old matches, that will be less collectible. Unless you have a set signed by everyone.

Hm... new marketing idea for TAR, limited edition signed DVDs.

Actually just got off the phone with Buddy and told him about the prices of the book and suggested he look into doing a small run of 50 to 100 and sign them and put them out there. I know they are not gonna be the 1st edition so hopefully won't affect collectors. He said he is going to make some calls this afternoon and see what he can do. JUSt FYI

Buddy could sell them quick here on AZB, put me down for a copy!:)

Always wanted to read it, Buddy mentions my brother Calvin in it.

Re-print

If this book is re-published, I hope they find a good editor to keep the storyline pool related, and enlarge the print to at least 12 font.

This was the best pool book I ever read and I hated for it to come to an end. I bought it for $60 on ebay and sold it for $89. Loved it, Loved it, Loved it.

its at least 2pt font now:eek:, actually if you divide the market price by the number of words it just might be the cheapest book out there.

its a great read, need a electron microscope to read it but worth it.
