My memory is about shot. Is this the way you judge condition of rails?

Put CB on head or foot spot. Hit it hard and straight to the end rail. Back and forth 4 to 5 times =good. Under 4 too slow and over 5 too fast. Is ths a good way of telling? Johnnyt

IMO, Yes, for a 9' table. I don't know what the number is for a smaller table. Also, there should be no or minimal bounce of the CB during this test. In other words, if you have to hit it so hard to pass the test, that the CB comes flying off the first rail, its a fail.

I just 'sling' the ball, but yeah, about 4.5 is perfect.

Hoooow sweet it is!

Thank you for the information, Mr. Kramden. I was just able to test my table and know what the "spec" was.

Thank you all for the great feedback. I should have sain 7' Valley, but I'm sure 3 1/2 rails says I need new rails. Johnnyt

I remember reading that you had ridgebacks on your table....Ridgebacks + 860 on mine = no where near SLOW.....

And Check the corner casting bolts. If they're loose, that'll slow it down.
