Raj Hundal

Raj is good for pool. JoeyA is good for pool. SpiderWeb is good for pool. Even CTE is good for pool. I might disagree with every one of them from time to time, but they are ALL GOOD FOR POOL!

Roger

Roger, you're even good for OOL. Just keep your P out of it.

Van Van vs Raj

People think Raj can't play or beat anyone in a session? Weird. I don't see people tripping over themselves to gamble with him.

I think he's a great guy - funny as hell.

I hate to bring this up but it just irks me to hear this kind of comments.

You're right, nobody's tripping over to gamble with him because he learned his lesson from VanVan a couple years ago at QMaster. Van van was woofing at Mika and his European friends. Mika didn't want to step up and play so they put up Raj if Van van will give up the 8 playing 10 ball thinking they had the nuts.

He got the 8 and for a while he looked good but Van van was just too much for him even if he had a big spot.. The kid, Van van, just wasn't missing anything, locked up safeties and running out from everywhere.
They raced to 13, when the dust settled, the score was 13-7, Van van.

We put up the money again for the next set and for a moment we thought they were going to play again, but changed their mind. At that time, Van van was newbie here in the States, he wasn't even a champion then and yet the kid was slaying just about everybody.

A local player even had the temerity to ask for an id when got beaten by the kid in QMaster. That was Van"s first time here in the States when he challenged Mika. Mika refused, put Raj up and got robbed. The Europeans were not happy that night!

For the record Tom: Raj didn't have a chance to put on his best suit in my booth at Galveston. In fact, Raj has never been in my booth, ever.

World Champion or not, the guy has talent and it is not a small amount of it either.

If Raj has had the gonads to go up against a warrior like Chris Bartram, I think he can be considered a great talent.

Furthermore, one of his recent charitable works got my attention and you can see that by CLICKING HERE. This alone says he is a good guy and great for pool.

Raj is good for the sport of pool. I easily condone his self-promotion. No, I actually like and respect his self-promotion.

More pool players should be doing just what he does. It could improve the industry as a whole.

GO RAJ! :D

how about van van quit me in the middle of our set?
he had me 14 8 race to 21 i tie it up 14 14 he quit.
why dont you tell people on here about that?
good day

Geeze...Joey... I never once said the guy couldn't play. Don't get your panties all in a wad.

You make a post and I add a comment.. and you reply... what is wrong with that?

If he wins this tournament... I will be the first to say Congrats... but until then your promotional post just is that... a promotional post.

We can have our opinions can't we? or is it against your rules?

We're all good Tom... No panties in a wad. Nothing wrong with you adding a comment.

While you didn't say the guy couldn't play, you agreed with black-ball's statement about calling bs on edd mentioning that Raj was a supreme talent and a personable guy. Your agreeing with black-ball's statement insinuates that you don't think the guy can play.

If Raj keeps up the kind of charity works I mentioned in my first post, he gets a free pass for me until he moves my cheese. :)

Better yet, why don't you tell us what happened? I was a little bit inebriated at the time when you had the altercation. All I heard afterwards was that you and Van van had a disagreement over a shot.

Well, I guess it's true then that there's always two sides to the story. He believed that the call was wrong and he didn't feel good about continuing to play with that kind of call.

But of course, you have your opinion about the call, right? If you really thought that the call was right, why did you let him take the money?

Just asking, you know...

if he did not like the call why did he let me shoot?
i did not have a choice the backer i dont know his name i like that guy and he wanted van van to play.
for respect for the backer i said you cant make him play i know that so we took the money down.
the backer wanted van van to play cause the backer knows im good action and a good guy to play.
at the time van van knew he was in bad for that set.
he played perfect and it was 14 14 he did not like his side.

Raj has been on a mission these last few weeks. Getting some pool tips from Ralf Souquet and Rodney Morris has turned him into a ball running machine.

He's doing great in the World Pool Master tournament. Recently he won a big European event beating out Marcus Chamat.

Right now, in the WPM's he's had back to back wins over Ga Young Kim 9-1 and Jason Klatt 9-3.

I knew that Souquet and Morris had the good stuff. They will wind up in JoeyA's booth one day and I will force the secrets out of them. :D

Keep up the good play Raj!

JoeyA

Joey, Raj is a talented player with lot's of confidence and self-esteem. He's also funny and colorful character, definitely good for the audience and pool overall.
But to get some facts straight, the event he won couple of weeks ago, was a handicap tournament in central Sweden (up north Europe), and there were two international touring pool players in the field.
Yes, they were Marcus Chamat and Raj himself.

No other top 50 Euro's were playing there.

For ye olde record:
I think Raj is a damn solid player, but every time I've seen him with a cue in hand, well he isn't someone that I'd want to play.

It does change my view of his person to hear he has 'charity works'. The things you learn on the interweb. Just the other day Bartram learned how to use the smileys.

That's fair enough. I did not know all of the details and thank you for the input.

Good post, Joey! I had the good fortune to meet and talk at length with Raj and Rodney, when they graced our local pool room here for a Jacoby Carolina Tour event a couple of years ago. Raj is a supreme talent and highly personable.

edd,
At the U.S. Open 10 Ball Championship, t seems that Raj has had ANOTHER good showing despite losing his first match 9-4 against Orcullo.

I call bs on both those statements!
Can you still say the same thing?

Second that... unless he has seen the light in recent years... he has been less than noteworthy until a recent victory.

I doubt he has changed much.
Has Raj earned your respect with his showing at this week's major tournament?

There we go with that when winning thing again!
Winning? Raj did a little of that this week against some very notable players.

oh no, Joey! Not the big blue promo ink again :-(

I can't help it. The only other color that I really like is RED.

Marvel,
I believe the following scores vindicate Raj's qualifications as a TOP PLAYER.
4-9 Orcullo, 9-3 Enbebakk, 9-1 Atwell, 9-7 Nishimura, 9-7 DEUEL, 9-7 ARCHER, 7-9 APPLETON.
Maybe, just maybe, Raj has turned the corner.

Glad to hear you respect his "charity works". Now how about acknowledging some love for his game?

Raj

Raj has been my friend since the day he started playing on my Pro 9 Ball Tour. He was still a schoolboy back then but I have watched his game develop to a such an extent that he is unquestionably a World Class Player.

So it dismays me when someone uses a positive posting by the extremely knowledgable JoeyA to denigrate a players ability.

Raj won the Masters a couple of years ago with one of the greatest comebacks you will ever see against another class player Rodney Morris.

His effervescent personality rubs some people up the wrong way but he is not one of the Automaton Brigade. His decision to play for his parental country of India was a shrewd move and when he gets wider recognition by fellow Indians then he could be a sporting icon of Bollywood proprtions.

I also can t understand how someone could find something in JoeyA s posting to start a discussion like that. Everyone who has a bit talent to watch pool and even the knowledge to analyze the abilities of a player would say that Raj H. hasn t talent. That he has talent is unquestionable! And if some of those so-called experts would see how Raj plays now and how he played 2-3 years ago they better stop discussing. The answer would be just watching him!

Joey A: you re absolutley right- and further: that s what makes a professional player, to work on himself all the time and trying to get better-and he does.

Most players, fans, and TD's put up with Earl's crap, Hatch's sharking, and a few other winners...so I can put up with Raj ego also. Johnnyt
