No offense, but don't change your budget-plans if it involves gambling with the locals. Then you will donate and feed quite a few
-Ran 12 racks unfinished on a barbox.
-Made 8 balls on the break playing 9 ball on a Gold Crown 9' table.
-I'm one of only two people to win our city championship bar table tournament twice before leagues got going strong. (was non-league)
-Won the 6th Naval District 8 ball championship.
- One of very few people that have driven a submarine, a semi-truck, and flown an airplane.
- One of very few people that have taken a dump at test depth on a submarine and on a transatlantic airplane.
-Was a Missile Technician on the only sub I know of that has launched 24 Intercontinental Ballistic Nuclear Missiles. We launched all 16 in one test launch, another two times launched 4.
Neil. I know quite abit about your Sub. What where it's numbers and name?
USS TINOSA 606 was my brothers home for several years.

There are thousands of members here, and everyone has a personal achievement they have done, let's hear about them.
The ones so far are just great.
I know there are some people who have won or placed really high in things like VNEA or BCA, and that would be huge as there is only 1 tournament a year.

1. Completed the air traffic control training school. (subsequently hated the job and quit, but that's another story)
2. Won my provincial Tae Kwon Do championship 2 consecutive years, retired from competition after the 2nd one.
3. Had a fantastic run at the VNEA from 2004-2006, winning the intermediate teams in 2004, 2nd in the master's teams in 2005(damn you Bartram) and finished 2nd in the speed pool in 2006 to Francisco Diaz.

I wemt to the "Wall" In DC with a hang-over back about 13 or 15 years ago, it was a long time ago. Hung-over, cold I didnt want to go, But my friend insisted. Ok, I'll go for a quick look. That was a wake up call of my life, I cried and left long after my friend. Brutal. just brutal. I didnt know you were there. Now I feel honored to have gave you that cue. before I felt good. WOW. THANKS!!!!

At the risk of being slapped silly for this, with all the world beaters on here...
Played 2 BB 8 ball matches in a row, race to 5.... lost the flip in the first one and my opponent broke wi/out making a ball. I ran out the set from there and went right to my next match on another table where I B&R 5 from the toss. I did win the tourney!
( and I bought half of myself in the calcutta for $5 )!!!
I'm still proud of that one 15 years later.... and it's probably the best I will ever reach. :-(

I had the same kind of feeling when I visited the Normandy American Cemetery in France 20 years ago. I still choke up at the end of Saving Private Ryan each time I see it. As its sung.. freedom isn't free.
As for my accomplishments.. umm.. pool related, last week I ran out 2 dry breaks before 2 BNRs only to choke on the 8 on the next almost-BNR. So, pretty much no miss until the end of the 5th rack. Last night got 2BNR, missed runout and then another 2 BNR.. almost 5? Close enough, right? :thumbup:
In order of achievement:
Age 18-20, was one of the top youngest players in Western Canada; I'm currently 37.
At 17, ran 73 balls in snooker (6x12).
At 19, ran 7 racks of 8ball against my best friend on a 8ft and 6 racks of 9ball against some guy from Montreal who wanted to play some small cash sets on a 9ft.
Age 19-24, ran Mark's Pro Shop Cue Repairs; fixed hundreds of cues ... even setup shop in Calgary for their large BCA event one year.
At 29, moved to the US and attended University to obtain a degree in IT; I only had my high school diploma at 18 and never went to college. During my studies, I won $15,000 in scholarships. Graduated at the top 1% of the class with a 4.0/4.0 GPA. Also, was the EDP Honor Society president for three semesters till graduation.
Age 24-25, backpacked across Canada, USA, Europe, and the Middle East; traveled to over 40+ countries during my lifetime.
Age 18-24, was a pool room co-manager and night sports bar manager.
Age 25-29, was a sports massage therapist and worked for the Edmonton Eskimos (CFL), on a Seabourn Cruise Line, in Banff(ski resort), and in the Cayman Islands.
Got married, got a green card, and bought our first home in 2005; finished the basement/pool room on my own during the weekends; took 8 months.
I'm an Advanced Open Water Diver with 55 dives.
Ongoing achievements:
Currently an IT consultant, really enjoy what I'm going, which is really important!, wish I had more time to play pool, love to travel, and have wonderful wife of over 5years.
Just became certified foster parents and will have a child in our home in 2011.
