Just in case this helps. Not planning into getting into a long discussion here. I don't get on the web site that often. A couple of years ago I researched tip hardness ratings using published information on the web. The Kamui super softs run about 57.5 on the hardness scale, the softs about 62. The Elk Master runs about 60. I have a Kamui black super soft clear on my Helmstetter (factory reproduction not an original -- darn it) and an Elk Master on my $69 Sneaky Pete. While the Helmstetter is the better playing cue, most likely due to the Bob Danielson shaft I have for it, I really can't tell much difference in the way the tips handle the cue ball. The Elk Master is more prone to mushrooming but it's also about $45 less than the Kamui where I play.I'm getting kind of tired of the kamui tips, looking to change brand. What are your top 3 tips?
