Previous Transaction With Sureman

I had purchased a plain jane birdseye Tad from Sureman at DCC when it was still being held at the Executive Hotel in Lexingtion in 2002. There wasn't really any room there to roll the cue to test level etc..I took him at his word that it wasn't warped. I paid around 1100 for it. When I got it back to Indiana, I noticed the butt had a significant wobble in it. Upon contacting him and finally getting a response, he said the next time we meet to bring it up and he would take a look at it and remedy the situation. A few weeks later he had a display at a 9ball tournament in Toledo,Oh. I drove about five hours to meet with him. Upon my arrival and initial discussion, he was clueless and had no recollection of our previous conversations. After showing him the cue, he claimed that in no way that he would ever sell a cue that was in such condition and that I must have purchased it from someone else and become confused with the vendor. He refused to buy it back or offer a refund. I have since found out that a friend of mine and a third party also had similiar experiences with him. I would consider this person highly untrustworthy and one who fails to stand behind the items he sells.

I hope this post serves as a warning for others that are contemplating entering a transaction with this vendor.

first off i notice that you have no itrader rating. then to set the record straight, you're a BALL FACED LIAR. at the Derby i sold a Tad birdeye that i had purchased from Richard Minton a cue dealer from Paoli, IN, he is a honest man to deal with & a friend. there was a 9' Diamond directly in front of my booth. there never was a roll in this cue. Richard & i both checked it. 2 or 3 months later, this nit calls me & says cue is cracked just below the joint. was going to Glass City Open, agreed to look at cue. it had a crack in it. but it was stained black, he said before he had 3 or 4 more Tads. i couldn't tell if this was cue i sold. he wanted $1.100 + $250 to $300 for Tad to refinish it. no way did Tad stain a birdseye cue. a friend of mine told me he had Mike Stacey do the work. 1st i could not convince myself this was cue i sold, 2nd after 2 to 3 months went by. 3rd i'm not paying for work you chose to do. GOOD BYE NIT

That's an interesting story. I have known Don for several years and have bought, sold, and traded many cues with him. Never had a problem and always found him curtious, knowledgable and fair.
