don,
interesting sale technique.
We must have been disconnected.

I have known Don, and dealt with Don for many many years. We have made several deals over the years and he has always been fair and
honest with me. I have never had any problems with all of the deals
that we have made over several years. I can't offer any input about
the warped cue deal, but I find it very hard to believe that Don would
have ever had a cue for sale in that bad of shape. He has an excellent
reputation, and has been around for about 30 years or more. I will continue to deal with him. Just my two cents, Rick

so don, why make a response on this public forum??; and why describe it as a "catfight"?? Why make it one?? I will never contact you again, paul del giudice.

I had purchased a plain jane birdseye Tad from Sureman at DCC when it was still being held at the Executive Hotel in Lexingtion in 2002. There wasn't really any room there to roll the cue to test level etc..I took him at his word that it wasn't warped. I paid around 1100 for it. When I got it back to Indiana, I noticed the butt had a significant wobble in it. Upon contacting him and finally getting a response, he said the next time we meet to bring it up and he would take a look at it and remedy the situation. A few weeks later he had a display at a 9ball tournament in Toledo,Oh. I drove about five hours to meet with him. Upon my arrival and initial discussion, he was clueless and had no recollection of our previous conversations. After showing him the cue, he claimed that in no way that he would ever sell a cue that was in such condition and that I must have purchased it from someone else and become confused with the vendor. He refused to buy it back or offer a refund. I have since found out that a friend of mine and a third party also had similiar experiences with him. I would consider this person highly untrustworthy and one who fails to stand behind the items he sells.

I hope this post serves as a warning for others that are contemplating entering a transaction with this vendor.

An Unsatisfied Customer Who Was Swindled,
CA2Indy

I've been dealing with Don for about 25 years. I've bought and sold probably 20-30 high end cues with him in that time and he's never been anything but a perfect gentleman. I find your story hard to believe especially after reading what Don had to say in response. And how can you expect him to even consider taking a cue back after you had someone else stain and refinish it. If there was a problem with it why would you have someone work on the cue and then ask Don to take it back? Your story has the smell of rotten fish!

Another thing, you're publicly stating that Don, a businessman, swindled you! I hope you have some good proof of that and a good attorney. What you have stated could get you in some serious trouble! Rightfully so!

only thing i'm guilty of is perhaps i sold to cheap, to soon. was offered more later, but already had made an agreement. thanks all for support. don

thanks Mike, do you believe this? you work hard to build a reputation & along comes this crap. there is weasels out there, but this takes the cake. sorry for venting. don

Don't sweat it Don. Anyone who is actually "in the know" knows you are a standup guy. Your reputation is stellar with those of us who've had many transactions with you. Good luck in your future endevours. I'm sure I'll be buying another cue from you in the future. Take care...

I was at the Hopkins show about ten years ago looking for a Franklin era Southwest when someone told me to see Don at Sureman Cues. I did and found Don to be an honest seller and standup guy. He had the cue I was looking for and a deal was done. The following day my wife and I ran into Don and he ran up to me and said "Man, I'm I glad I ran into you...I've been look'n for you since yesterday when you purchased that SW from me". It turned out Don had accidently gave me the wrong shafts to the cue. The ring design and color scheme were close but even I didn't notice it until he showed me the differences. I got my right shafts and he got the others back as well.

I'm sure he must have dealt with and spoke to scores of people but he was able to spot me in a crowd and correct the mistake. Now that's customer service...thanks again Don...if you can remember that moment...lol.
