Realkingcobra and Iwan Simonis cloth install course.

From what I've read so far, I guess there's no one with a pool table at home that is interesed in seeing what REALY should be going on when they get their table recovered, thus the hacks in this market place;)

Glen

I feel like I have already taken the course.:D

Still in Mississipppi?

For those that have seen the RealKingCobra do his thing, there is no doubt who we feel is the best table mechanic around (yes, I feel that confident that I can speak for everyone on this). Glen just finished setting up my Diamond Pro and it is absolutely awesome! He is such a perfectionist that everything is done perfectly.

This seminar should be an absolute must for anyone that has ANY interest in how a table should be set up. It'll be more than worth it just for the unbelievable new glue he has. Again, many thanks Glen!

Wow.....
What a great training event you have planned and for a whopping cost of nothing!
I only wish there was one of these classes out west.
As I am a home table owner and very curious to the workings of a real craftsman such as yourself.

Kudos to you Glen for doing your part in the billiard community.

Good food!
Call me when you get up to Dallas, I'll be around town all day, and as I recall, lunch is on the schedule somewhere....;)

I'll be in Dallas tomorrow and throught the weekend, have one 7ft ProAm to deliver, and 2 9ft ProAms to recover...using glue for the bed cloth;) I'll give you a little practice if you want:D

Lunch

With Glen its easy - just have some Popeye's chicken and Dr. Pepper and hes a happy camper. LOL See ya this weekend old friend.

Home person with a Brunswick, I'm going to try and get up there.
Do you know if you'll be starting with the GC's?
Thanks for giving the class and the info.

I'm interested. Is this one 3 day class (If so, how many hours per day?) or is it 3 one day classes?

If it's one 3 day class, you might want to publish the daily agenda so that people who are only interested in particular sections (slate leveling, or cloth installation for example) can have the option to attend only that day.

This is certainly a good opportunity for many.

The written and picture step by step instructions for installing the bed cloth using glue will be available and free for the mechanics that show up:D I can't say any more about that at this time;) But...all my instructions written and picture step by step directions alone with DVD support will be available soon enough, just have to do something first before I can release them to the public;)

Glenny, I wish you were down here. One of the guys that owned a poolroom here set up tables all over town and did not cut back the plastic from the pockets to keep it flush with the shims, and balls that hit that plastic bounce out. They are disgusting. I'd like to take my Xacto knife to them! They are not even nailed down!

Now would be a good time because there is a new owner there and he starts in a week! ;) Regardless, I am going to say something to him and maybe get them fixed. I won't mention how the pockets are cut wrong either! :p

Saturday is day one, that's the day we're breaking down all 12 GC's to the frames, then bracing the frames and re-installing the slates, then discussing how the Simonis cloth is installed and the process of that. Sunday is day two, this is the rails day, and reassembly of the tables. This is when we're discussing recovering rails, replacing cushions on one GC4, and extending the sub-rails to 4 3/8" corner pockets and the whole process of that.

Monday is day three, this is the show and tell for Simonis, 3M, and Grainger to see what the importance of my glue is, how it's used, and how it can change this industry world wide.

Glen

PS. Training is also on the 2 Diamond 7ft Smart tables, to include recovering the slates, rails, going over the leveling system, how to move and install them, and the working system of the coin operation of the tables.

Talk to the new owner, I'll see what I can do, I'll be coming up that way in August right after this seminar for most of the rest of August before I head out again.

That's a great thing you are doing here ! I called my local room to let them know. Waiting on a call back from the owner. Hopefully, he will send someone!!

Please tell me it was breakroom. Sad thing they probably don't care enough.

Well, the room owner here isn't interested in making the tables decent or even barely acceptable. I am done with that place. He spends a small fortune that he doesn't have to re-do the whole room, yet spent the least he could on the tables. Screw him. I'm going back to just playing on bar tables, as he has the only 9' tables in town.

nevermind on above post
