Surely, you can take your feet to the drum sander and make them fit any size .
Joey~Wanted to know what the ID is if it can be threaded to fit my Logan but I guess it's a trade secret~
p.s. I don't own Porper.

I thought about putting one on my Porper Model B years ago but I decided that I would still need collets to protect the wood from the chuck marks. If you have a rear chuck coupled with delrin collets you end up with the error in the chuck coupled with the error of the collet.

Might as well just make a bunch of collets that fit the spindle bore and forget the rear chuck in my humble opinion.

ID is approximately 1.80; OD measures at 2.497 on my calipers. After heating the adapter with a blow dryer, it slid snugly into place on my model B. Martin

you're right about that

i dont know why, but my spindle is not the same diameters thru out

I made a delrin flanged tube with 1.25 ID and use O-rings ( KJ suggested it first ).
I'm making another one with 1" id for shafts.

thanks buddy, now i got something to go on

Hey Brent, my spindle is the same as yours, somewhat cobb rough on the inside. It HAS already been bored by Porper. On the other hand a few friends have older Model B's with spindles that are are as smooth as a baby's behind on the inside. It appears to have been a cost issue to go to the cheaper quality spindle.

And the cost issue was the most stupid thing he has done yet. Spindles need to be smooth on the inside, Only thing worse than stupid is stubborn and stupid.

I just bought one 2 weeks ago and the bore is purdy darn smooth.

If it was a new one maybe he changed it, I bought two new spindles to keep on the shelf and sent them to the machine shop for boring, they were that bad.

The spindle bore of my Jet lathe seems to be that bad also. :(

it's a world war two sheldon

i thought that split collets would work ok, but not
there's one sweet spot in the spindle that the collets i made work great
