Red Shoes Qualifier July 23 to be streamed

George Fels has agreed to do commentary? This is an opportunity for me to pick up on some cool lines and prescriptive straight pool protocol. AND, I get to pull for my AZB buddy Luigi. ;-)

With any luck at all there will be better match ups and I will be no where near the TV table.

However, I feel your love and if I make it to a TV match I promise to do a double chest pump and sent it back your way :-)

Lou "Luigi" Figueroa

I just spoke to George Pawalski from Wisconsin. He is a 200 ball runner. He will be there to spectate and kibbitz with George F and Freddy.

Dennis, are you privy to why George and George are not playing? I don't know the 2nd George, but G. Fels is an acknowledged 14.1 guru and 100 ball runner. Why ain't he playin'?

GF has a bit of a bad back. In our leagues we would let him play just one match instead of two. A few years back I know he was playing in tournaments, but I am not sure that his back can handle a full day at the table anymore. I did hear he had another hondo about a month ago.

GP is an elder statesman of the game as well, but I bet he could still put a whupping on some of us 50+ year old whippersnappers.

p.s. Are you going to see Dallas when you are in town. I was thinking of seeing if he wanted to come by.

No, won't be seeing Dallas. Wife and I will be rolling into town Friday afternoon for dinner and a show at Second City. Will just have time for two and out Saturday :-)

George thanked me for thinking of him.

Later, he said he would need at least one Angus Burger from the Red Shoes Kitchen in order to keep up his strength.... And a Cherry Cheese Kringle to be delivered by Frank "Sailor" Stellman of Racine. Sailor is a straight pool legend in the Midwest.

JoeyA needs to be included in this equation .. except he might need two of these:

dennis, thanks for the updates!

You're very welcome. This will be a great event and we are looking forward to doing the streaming.

All matches played on the feature table will be recorded and archived on ustream. I'll also be recording to the computer hd and a standalone dvr.

Steve

Almost upon us folks -- gonna be a great event and a great stream with Mi_Billiards doing it. :woot:

Thank you Dennis for asking us to stream your event.

As some you may know Mi_Billiards has been streaming 3 cushion events for the past couple of years and we are looking forward to live streaming this 14.1 event. Of all the pocket games 14.1 is my favorite so this will be a treat.

I understand that Dennis is trying to line up some top notch commentators, I'm sure he will keep us updated.

You will be able to view the live stream at our website and we are working on having score results on the same page. (below the video window)

I'm just the guy behind the cameras and computers but I'm sure that idea will be brought up in conversation. :yeah:

Steve

I'd like to express my gratitude to everyone who is donating their time and or resources to stream this. I sure hope I will be able to watch. Thank you.

Something New

We will be arriving at Red Shoes about 2:00 PM EDT and will be attempting something a new for us live stream.

Stay tuned for a stream from a totally different point of view. Should be interesting or at the very least, unusual.

Well, for me it is now time to get back to packing the gear, loading it all in the van, followed by the 3 hour drive to Red Shoes.

See you there.

Thanks to Steve and Curly for helping promote our game of 14.1

Also thanks to Pat Fleming for putting a link to the coverage on his accu-stats site. http://www.accu-stats.com/

Not only that, his staff even sent out emails to all the Accu-Stats subscribers about this event and stream. How strong is that!

Steve and Curly have put in some very long and arduous hours fine tuning "everything" in regards to this and many more varied events to come. I have been lucky enough to be in on some of that as an observer and can honestly say that the stream quality is second to none. It will be best viewed from their site as the screen size is bigger and clearer than that on ustream or any other site I have known to date. Also, the chat area is larger and is off to the right rather then the underneath/tiny versions that are prevalent on other personal sites. Overall, it gives ustream the 7 and other personal sites the 5 and steals.

I see some really good things coming out of this pair of stalwart proponents of "feltdom" ... can't wait for this and all future events to come. This is proof that there are good things happening in our sport and good, selfless, dedicated people behind it!

Bob <--Thinks Steve Kurtz will be the happiest man on the planet during this 14.1 stream!>

Too funny bob! Got me again

Hey Dennis, are you playing in the tourney... If not you are obligated to do some commentary !!!

Steve

Hey D,

Pat gave you a special shout out last night after the Hopkins challenge match... He thanked you personally for all that you do for the game !!!

Steve

That's nice. I wish I could have heard it but I was playing my League match at the IBC. To have Pat Fleming mention my name is an honor. And to have him put our event on his website and send the link out to his customers is also appreciated by me, John Lavin of Red Shoes and everyone else involved in the event.

I just got back from Red Shoes. Andy from Michigan and I played a little. He is in the event. Edgar Shuff who told me he was going to watch the Maryland Straight Pool surprised me by being here. He changed his mind and he is in the event also. Tom Karabotsos said he would be there. Jeff Carter is still not sure.

Curly and Steve were there setting up and things look pretty good. Freddy the Beard was there playing banks and testing his vocal chords on the front table. I forgot to tell him the stream is meant to be PG. I better remember tomorrow.

Later, 14.1 Addicts. Time to get some sleep.

Lots of PR going on in support of this as well. Thus far there have been responses from the following:

This is going to be good!
