Guys, there are a few of you testing the boundaries, so I'll clear them up for you all.

If I remove a post, and someone feels they can skirt that by re-posting it...that poster will be met with a Ban.

No questions asked.

If you guys feel the need to go digging through court records or whatever resources are out there and post them on the board, you run a serious risk of being banned.

I am not going to sit and judge why and what warrants anyone's record being thrashed in public here other than to say it WILL NOT BE PERMITTED.

if you think there is something that is relevant to AZ Billiards and are concerned, I strongly advise you to get permission before posting anyone's info here.

unless all of you want to play a game where your lives are transparent and all your private records can be made public don't start on anyone else's life.

I agree. I don't know what this is about, but digging into someone's past and spamming it is low.

Thanks for keeping the standards high around here.

You didn't remove the post but entire thread ...

Of Course, I May Be Completely Wrong........As Usual

Well, while we're on this subject. How about having Eddie Wheat post his cue prices, expertise, flagrant Ads, horn tooting, cuemaker insults & putdowns and unlimited skills (not to mention excuses to unsatisfied customers) in ONE OF THE "CUEMAKER FORUMS".

He shouldn't be allowed special privileges to post in the MAIN Forum, while all the other cuemakers conduct their business in the proper Forums.... imo

I know that his posts here in THIS Forum are seen by more potential customers and that is why he posts here, but make him butt heads with his competition in the forums where they reside.

That seems only fair to me.

*Edited to add: I think that Mr. Wilson, Mike and Holly do a great job of 'moderating' and APA7's banning was long overdue.

Mr. Wilson -- I don't disagree with the spirit of your policy, which promotes civility on the forum. I also believe that the posts listing a certain forum member's criminal history were ill-advised (at least in the manner presented). But I have misgivings about your broad statement of policy for two reasons.

First, marketers who use the forum to sell their products should not be immune from the disclosure of truthful information, no matter how unfavorable. Gratuitously posting embarrassing information about anyone on this site is wrong. Posting false or salacious information is wrong. But posting truthful information relevant to a seller's credibility or business practices should not be banned or punished. It is one of the services this forum provides. It can be abused, no doubt, but the privilege of using this forum as a promotional tool can also be abused. Is it over the line to post the criminal record of a questionable marketer who uses AZB to promote his business? Not always.

Second, the criminal information in the deleted threads is not private. It is readily available -- free, through on-line public records. Would the post have been deleted if it simply included the website address, with instructions on how to perform the search?

I don't necessarily disagree with your decision in this instance, but not because I think criminal history is always irrelevant, or because it's supposedly private. The information in the deleted threads could have been presented with more tact and less invective. But potential buyers are entitled to know who they're dealing with. When the gap betwen the seller's portrayal of himself and reality gets too wide, he has no basis for complaining if the distasteful truth comes out.

Over 5,000 posts and you finally were direct and to the point. I had to get up off the floor to type this. Amen Smorgass Bored. Amen.

oh and HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOE ROGAN

Bottom line is, just because it is public info doesn't mean it belongs here.

Your name and address are public, as well as how much taxes you paid etc.
So is your driver's liscense #...but I'll assume that just because it is public, you would just as soon it wasn't posted here even if **someone** thought it reflected your character regardless of good or bad.

Doug, you may only make a serious post every once in a blue moon, but they seem to be good ones when you do.

Mr. Wilson,

"Thanks"

I think posting Wheat Thins extensive criminal record was in pretty poor taste as well but it does go down in history as the only thread that added not just 1, but 2 cuemakers to the list of those I wouldn't buy a cue from.

P.S. DO NOT COME NEAR ME OR MY FAMILY OR MY PROPERTY FOR I AM IN FEAR OF MY LIFE.

He comes out of retirement to make this post......LOL
I know you have made a few posts recently so "retirement" may not be accurate, more like hibernation.

Good to see you back Eric.

When possible, we can and do edit or delete individual messages as opposed to entire threads..but because of the quoting of those messages..we would sometimes have to go through a ton of messages in order to edit them all.

Where we can we will edit or delete individual posts.

Thanks for your understanding and support.

Tap Tap Tap

Great Post!

Court records are PUBLIC not private. If such records are relevent to pool they should be on Main...if not on NPR. Anything else is simply censorship...which should be banned...not relevent public information.

Is Jay going to be banned if he sues Bobbitt and posts a copy of the Complaint on the forum?

So do we also need to burn books, newpaper articles, magazine articles...posts from other forums?
