Restored Huebler cue, 1970's Model

I know that there are a number of members who are interested in Huebler Cues. I am posting this cue because I have never seen another like it, now I know that many variations of standard models came out of the Huebler shop, so if anyone knows the model please post it.

The original pin was brass and was snapped off flush with the joint collar. The original pin had to be drilled out and the forearm was cored so that a insert could be installed to set the new pin into. This way if there was any damage to the wood were the old pin was located that could not be seen this would strengthen that area.

I suspect that the cue originally had Cortland Irish Linen used for the cues wrap, so I replaced it with a White with Green speck wrap that Heubler frequently used.

The Heubler name on the cues butt cap is the Vertical type used in the 1970's and it remains intact.

That is very cool Craig! I really like the pearl rings. And you did a great job with the entire refinish. Everything pops but still looks old school. Great job!

Extra rings

Nice, I haven't seen one with the extra set of rings at the bottom. I bet some one asked Mr. Huebler to put another set on to make it twice as nice!
While I do like this cue, I have to say that I really like the ones with the brass joint and pin; nothing screams old school like brass.
Nice work on the restoration.

That looks great, Craig.

I, too, really like the extra set of rings. Hueblers do play well, in IMO.

WOw, excellent job Manwon. That cue looks beautiful. Huebler cues have a certain look to them that I have always liked. A friend of mine had a nice early 90's Huebler that could use a refinish. ( new clear coat and linen wrap) Could you PM me your charge for this and I would be happy to pass it along to him.

Thanks for all the comments from everyone who posted.

I wish I could do the work for your friend, however, I have a great deal of work to catch up on, if you still would like the work done contact me in towards the end of next month.

Thanks again

Nice job Craig, it looks like it really shines. I've got the same cue, minus the extra rings, it plays really nice.

Do you remeber the model of the cue Rusty?

I hope all is going well for you partner, I heard you all got a little Snow back there in Missouri this year, that is one thing I don't miss.

Take Care.

Craig, got the cue here on az. Spyral7 had asked if anyone could ID it and Bobalouiecda said it was a H-9 and sold new for 155 in the late 70's. Mine had the wrap cleared over, I don't know if it came that way or not. It looks like maybe it did.

Many of Paul's early cues did have a wrap that was sealed with finish kinda like the Meucci cues, I have seen a number of them done that way.

Thanks for your comments Rusty

nice Huebler cue

GREAT JOB on the cue, Meucci started doing that after he worked in Pauls shop in the early 70s. Again you did a great job let me know when you have extra time I have about 20 I would love to have finished like that lol
