Rhino CF shafts....159bux, free ship

I went in yesterday to get one for my GF as a Christmas present. Didn't show a discount. I did sign up for their emails and got 5% off, so after the $15 shipping charge, it came to roughly $205. Confirmation email followed quickly, but nothing for tracking. Message said they'd let me know when it shipped.
She has decided she likes my CF shaft, and has been shooting with it in league play for a couple weeks now. Made this an easy decision.

Website now showing prices at $199 and free shipping on orders over $899. I think they figured out pretty quickly they were underpricing their merchandise.
the sale was clearly advertised from the 23rd til the 27th. that's why. extended black friday special. snooze you lose. nothing to do with them misreading the market.

I never saw the sale ad. In fact, yesterday was the first time I even saw the thread. I don't want a CF shaft, was just commenting on my observations with the info the link offered.

Received my 30" playing shaft today. Hits pretty good. Been a Revo user since their release but I'd keep this as a spare in case you need one. Honestly, for 159 bucks, I didn't expect it play so good. Feel is different than Revo but not in a negative way, just different. Haven't done any other comparisons, just hitting balls right now.

Once you get more time with it can you compare and contrast it against the revo with more details?

From what could tell deflec. was pretty low. Low as a Revo? didn't have one handy. The Rhino i hit was 12.7 and seemed to play much the same as the 12.9Revo i tried but its been a while. IMO its a helluva shaft for 160bux.
How’s the taper is it long or short ?

A third of the Cost (compared to the leading brands)...
If the Rhino is only half as good as the above... you would still win

But, I've tested a friends rhino (29in, 12,5mm) and there was yery little difference to the market leaders
there are no issues (the overall quality is a little south, deflection is a little north, Tip-quality is a little south),
nothing one cannot get used to

I just orered one

A close friend and I ordered some partial CF shafts and made the filling and inserts for the joint and ferrule ourselfs (on a maschinist lathe).
We tried different materials as well as different designs/weights for the ferrule-insert
It showed that we could determine the deflection by chosing material and weight for the ferrule-Insert...
Insert weight from 0.74 to 1.40 grams and ferrule lenght from 2 to 12mm (plus 16mm glued in the CF tube)
... make a (scale fom 1 to 10) "very low" (1) to "reglular" (10)" deflecting shaft
I prefere a 31.0in / 14mm / SIB soft / 1.00g / 10mm Ferrule-Insert -> medium-low Deflection (5)
my friend's favourite is a 29.5in / 12.5mm / SIB med / 0,84g / 3mm Ferrule-Insert -> low deflection (3)
(we are still in prototyping mode and do not sell any of our brainbugs)

Considering the cost of material and shipment, as well as the time spent thinking, working and testing...
the cost of 200USD for a well made CF shaft is more than reasonable

Take care, Wolfgang
Fantastic post I love good reads about experiments and tweaking what's already good to make a bit better, or at least personal preference mods for ones personal game. I myself have been fiddling with T type or " Vault plate" T setups on cynergy's, Revo's, and now my becue for the past couple years. So far my best set up is a hybrid with two materials and wood plug in the middle top of the vault cap the other courter inch into the shaft is hallow! This has made my modified 11.4mm Becue engage have extremely low deflection created a super pleasant hit. Expensive experiments but has payed off for my personal likes in a carbon shaft, may even start building some blanks, just haven't messed with foam yet time to get some good blanks.

Looks like they are having another good sale:

Just ordered a CF playing shaft in 3/8x10 for $169, free shipping. Also, it was nice to be able to select a soft tip. Was the soft tip option available on the Black Friday sale also?
