How very sad, he was one of Gloucester's finest. My condolences to his immediate family and his pool family and friends!! RIP Hippy Jimmy...

Another of the greats is gone. He is one of the few greats that passed on much of his knowledge of the game. He truly will be missed. My deepest condolences to his family and friends.

Hippie Jimmy Reid....maybe the smartest of the great players.

Rest in peace, Jimmy

I'm at a loss for words. I will write more later. This is a very sad day at the McCready home. :(

I am glad his suffering is over. He has had a rough few years, and IMO he deserved none of it. May he rest in peace, (unless he is giving up the the nuts)

Goodbye Diamond Jim. That was the nickname he preferred and what he asked me to put on the case I made for him. I still use the many things you taught me to this day and pass them on whenever I get the opportunity. You were an interesting man with a brilliant mind. I am glad to have known you.

Very sad day indeed. I talked with him a lot at several of derby city classics in about 03,04,05 and all i have say learned a lot from this fine man about players and the correct way play the game. So sorry hear this. Rip my friend! My condolences goes to his family!

Rest in peace Jimmy.
Although we never met in person, I'll remember all our conversations.
Your pool knowledge was tremendous and I'll be forever grateful for the snippets you passed on to me.

See you later buddy. We had some times you and me. You turned me on for the first time when I was 22 and I quit my job and hit the road with you less than a year later. You were never afraid to play anyone, big name or not. No one could put a muzzle on that trap of yours either. I'll never forget your wicked little smile (and cackle) when you delivered the punch line. You were an American original Jimmy and there was no stopping you. I knew that already when we were still kids.

I think my best day was cruising Sunset in that new '70 Caddy convertible you bought after making a monster score in Detroit. The glove box was full of cash, the top was down and you were riding high, on top of the world. I loved you buddy and always will. Thanks for all the memories!

I knew Jimmy a little bit, that is to say that I knew him enough that he would say hello and we'd exchange pleasantries when our paths crossed. He taught me more in 15 minutes of banging balls than anyone else in my pool life. I enjoyed his company, however brief, immensely.

It's always sad when one of the old guard goes, but this one stings a little. See you on the other side, Jimmy.

Thoughts and prayers to his family and friends.
