RIP Joey Kong

A fixture in NY pool for the last 25 years at least. Early indications are a Heart Attack brought on by shoveling snow. I dont think he was north of 50 Years old. A crying shame. Never heard a bad word about him. Condolonces to the family

Very saddened by this news today. Joey was reserved, but always smiling and friendly. I have good memories of the one time I got to play him (read: had a lesson from him) at Masters years ago.

Just got back from Joey's wake.
It was an incredible turn out of people saying goodbye.
Joey was a fixure at my poolroom, DJ's in Nanuet, NY for many years.
He was there playing one pocket a few days ago, just hard to imagine he's gone.
He will be missed by many.

RIP, Joey

I used to watch him play at Family Billiards in Bergenfield. Always impressed with his game and demeanor. Once, I looked up and he was watching me, LOL. I heard the theme from "Jaws" in my head and kept my gaze averted. I always looked at NY/NJ tourney results looking for his name to see how he was doing. Very sad to hear he's passed.
