Me too but it was the closest resemblance I could come up with.

build like that to pull a stocking cap down over his
face, so I can see if it is him?

I knew a great player out of Florida that to this day continues to be mostly undercover. Whenever the time came to take photos, they would say one, two three CHEESE and at just the right moment, this guy would always look down so you didnt get a good shot of his face. I asked him about it, and I pointed out that by entering bigger tournaments, he was giving up his right to not be knocked by a pic. His reply was that he only gave up his right to the people who watched the tournament, and that others would have to pay the price of admission to see what was behind door #3. He also said that he didnt like being anonymous, he wanted nothing better than to be known worldwide as a champion. The problem was with the state of the tournament purses, if his picture were spread far and wide, he would be a well known homeless pool champion. 15 years have gone by since we had this conversation, and this guy is a homeowner with less than 30k left on his mortgage, lives lean but well and supports a family.
For this guy who has his picture cut out, I don't know his story, but I am inclined to give him the benefit of doubt that its a matter of survival that he needs to remain anonymous.
Donovan said:What's wrong is the guy standing next to him has this for a picture (for his livingroom) of his own great personal accomplishment ruined by the selfish idiot standing next to him. I still think the whole thing is dumb. No picture, then don't paly. Had I been there and saw all this, I would have boo'd the guy out of there for being selfish jerk. People always thinking of themselves...ugg!
AzHousePro said:Hey gang, I have one that I really want to get off my chest. I received the usual slew of tourney results from this weekend and received the following picture from one of the tour events.
It seems that the winner is a road player and doesn't want his picture on the internet (presumably because it will kill his action).
The room owner and sponsors of the tour added money and/or product to make the event a success and they do that in exchange for the promotion from the event. I assume this player didn't offer to give the money back that he won since he was not allowing the tour to promote those sponsors properly.
Am I wrong at thinking this sort of thing is very 'dark ages' and is doing nothing at all for the game of pool?

BRKNRUN said:It may be genius on his part. If he had not put on the ski mask, the picture would have been glossed over, and no one would have given it a second thought. Now, it is sure to be talked about for weeks, and someone will recognize him and he will get his 15 minutes of fame.
These days, there are a ton of great players. Hiding in the bushes does nothing....Stepping up and saying "I play for money, muscle up!" will get the money players and wanna be money players from all over wanting a piece of you...
Look at Tony Chohan....he has the balls to step and say "muscle up"...I don't think there is any shortage of action for him these days.
It may be ego on this ski mask guys part...he might just be trying to portray this "I am a road player" image just because he thinks that is cool....
or
It could be something like...."Let everyone know that I am a big time road player.....but don't tell anyone"

Jaden said:It's probably that he doesn't want money games with people who know how fast he runs would be my guess. He doesn't want to have to give up the world to get a game with people. He wants to be able to dog it and win by just enough to keep them playing.
That's what hustlers do. They get the nuts and take the money.
