ok some people have asked for a story or 2.
me big arm john and denver barger are in minn get action.
nothing big 300 400 stuff like that.so they tell us to go to
fargo north d to play rorrie henderson.so we go there we walk in
he says im not going to play denver but he does not know me from denver
we are both 5 7 225 at the time lol now days a smooth 160 lol.
so i wanted to play anyways 8 ahead for 3000.i win the flip boom i break and run the set.rorrie does not know what to say so i said you should go play chris over there like my name was denver.he does not know what to do well big arm john is 6 2 225 so you know he is not denver lol.
so rorrie plays him for about 12 hours and they break even.

did you guys ever get in any jams when Big arm was with you? Or did everyone pretty much stay in line and not act up?

I will throw one in:

Late 90s, a budd y of mine who grew up and started playing pool in Lubbock says we should go there as he knows the players and is playing about 10x better than when he left. We go.

I drop about $2-300 on the way down is a couple of rooms and we stop in Bristol VA/TN at the olde folks' home to see an olde road man, Sam 'Seattle Sam' Trivett. First words out of his mouth: I know you holdin, son. Twist a good one up. Good one twisted up and we chat for a while. Sam tells us, 'I know it is customary to give a gift to guests, but I don't got nothin but some opium suppositories. My neighbor died in the stairwell and I got 'em'. I pass:eek:. Sam gives me a pill with instructions: don't take this unless you got a lotta time to sleep...we wrap up our visit and get back in the car. I put the rx in my mouth and drink a gatorade...and wake up 20 hrs later in TX. I am told I put gas in the car, had conversations w/ buddy...don't remember any of it.

We get down to Lubbock and do pretty damn well. Got my buddy drunk for the first time...came back with more $ than we left with...good times.

Here is a post that Chris made a long time ago in case anyone missed it. It happened in a town alot like Lubbock....

Me, my road partner and The Saw go to this town, the bar is called lets say for this story "The Red Robin". The best player is i'll say, Pablo. So my friend plays pablo 50 a game. This guy needs the 6 from either one of us, but not from The Saw, lol. Ok, my friend wins 500 at 50 a game, not bad but the guy with all the money is who im after. So Pablo chirps at me to play, so i do, 50 a game. I lost 500 back. Perfect the money man shows up to see this. Now i play the money man who needs the last 6. I give him the 8 ball, IIRC, for 300 a game. I stall cause its out of line. I think i win about 4000. Now pablo wants to play me, so I say my partner will play, like im scared, but he beat him so he keeps wanting to play me. So i say, you know what, I cant beat you for 50 a game but i dont think you can play for 300 a game. So we play for 3000 later. I'm right, he cant play for 300 a game..... The best part is, now some guy from the crowd says ill take the 6 7 8 so i look over this guy must be 90 years old. (He ain't bullshitting here, the guy really was like 90... Saw) I have to play this guy i dont remember but i think 200 a game and he lost around 2000 all because i let pablo beat me out of 500.

Do they still break thumbs :eek: for $hit like this??? Now that you've posted this on the internet, maybe you had best stay away from Fargo for a while :wink:!!!
