As if anyone is interested in my two cents worth, I've always found Rodney to be a gentleman and have called him my good friend. I don't want to discuss the right or wrong of his project but Rodney, if you write any book, do it because you want to say something and don't be under the illusion it's a way to make any money. I have a good time selling and giving away my book and as a gesture it helps me with my rug business. But, considering the costs of self publishing a first class product like mine are, I could make more money standing on the corner telling people which way the Post Office is.
A book about specific people doing things straights can't identify with captures a small audience.
As a slow learner, I just finished a lusty romance novel entitled DANCING ON THE INSIDE...A MOROCCAN FANTASY, which I am, once again self publishing. The ego takes a firm grip on the elderly.
I know the current R.M. issue is a hot topic but I also know the right thing will happen. We pool enthusiasts are a small family in a small nest.
As for my take on Rodney's ability, some years back I was producing a documentary on the Hawaiian Brian WPBA tournament, in Honolulu. I took my cameras in the pool room. Rodney walked in and I asked him to shoot for my cameras. I racked 9-ball for him. Without a warm up stroke he broke and ran five racks, whistle clean, then asked "What now?" I didn't feel it was my place to answer, "Get out of town."
Keep the peace...No, don't. Share it...Alfie
