Rodney Morris Book

Who else is excited for this to come out?

I have heard he is going to call out everybody in the pool world and just release all the stories some of which are : Mark griffin scenario, fixed money games, players who have took dives and how SVB rigs the rack just to mention a few.

This could start an avalanche.

So....it's mainly an autobiography??

It didn't work for Jose Canseco. (sp?)

It cant help anyone except RM. He will feel better for a while but in the end the best way to help himself is just put his head down and play pool. There is a Hustle in every sport, business, Job, company, union, even in religion. In every aspect of life there is someone trying to figure out a way to buck the system. Pool is no different, probably worst. He cant win by busting out those guys. May even end up dead. Him and Earl are my favorite players but I would think he is smarter than to be a snitch. But who know what evil lurks in the minds of man

Oh man, that is the very first thing I thought about when I read the first post. Beat me to it, but yeah, its a lot like that.

between libel and slander too.

Don't know why but I read slander as islander.

First thing I thought of was, Hey Mon, lets just roll a big one and go fishin.

Libel to chill out and maybe catch us a big one.

ohhhh I'm a good old rebel and that's just what I am....

And... for the yankee nation... I do not give a damn......

NOT....

Sounds like sour grapes. Ones actions in life speak Volumes. Many of us have been fired or lost a job or?? and to go back and write a book about other's, at work, well as Big Truck says....''if your pointing a finger at another, there's probably three fingers pointing at yourself.'' All I can say is, grow up.

Gotta be bs... Though you know it would be a train wreck, coz he prob wouldn't get an editor or a lawyer or any releases.

I bet he'd learn the difference between libel and slander too.

It's only libelous and slanderous if it isn't true.
After pool I wonder if Rodney will go the MMA route like Canseco did.
Rodney "The Rocket" Morris takes on Ronda Rousey for the intergender title

Doesn't sound like much effort beyond a Tell All Tabloid type read.

He would do more damage, to his reputation anyway as compared to the little money he would potentially make. What, sell 100 copies tops?

A couple of members might buy the book and relate the few stories that may be worth re telling and that would be the end of it.

I won't be holding my breath for it to be released.

What's the matter? You guys think you are going to be mentioned in the book?

There's so much shady sh!t with pool, I'd be interested in finding what I don't know and what I've suspected is true...

I doubt he'll tell us much we don't already know. I also doubt he'll lie if this book is written, although he may share some points of view that some of us would deem to be poorly reasoned or even delusional.

The not-so-young among us will remember the 1970 book "Ball Four" by Jim Bouton, a not always flattering account of baseball, the good and the bad. It even takes some shots at Mickey Mantle, possibly the game's most beloved figure at the time, noting that he took a drink even on a game day from time to time. Baseball Commisioner Bowie Kuhn demanded that Bouton admit that "Ball Four" was fiction, but Jim Bouton refused to retract a single written word. Today, few doubt the accuracy of Bouton's accounts of some of baseball's secrets, and the book is considered a classic.

Rodney's book, even if it exposes, with honesty, some of the game's indelicacies, would not do any damage to the game of pool, and it might even make a good read.

I'll buy a copy.

1) what could anyone write about pool that would be surprising? Maybe that Allison Fisher was born Alfred Fisher, or that every Filipino star is actually a Muslim terrorist laying plans to destroy the West?

2) who would care? Pool players only care what a guy's high run is.

IF this book is ever published, I think it will create a lot of discussion on AZ. Who better to spill the beans than squeaky clean RM? (I'm not slamming RM, imo he's a product of the industry which I so dearly wish would take a shower).

Even if this purported book is one-sided and biased, it's going to tick off some industry people - people that have egos that won't resist the temptation to pubicly defend to the last hair. Which IMO will put them on guard and perhaps tighten up their ship.

As for libel charges, lol, squeeze blood from a rock.

Ship it Rodney!
